Re: EDC knife

I took a two-day hands-on Edged Weapons class from Steve Tarani and I recommend this class. I plan on taking his Non-ballistic Weapons class whenever things get back to normal. You can check his schedule on his website. https://stevetarani.com/ By the way, be sure to read his bio!

Re: Costco prohibit carry - No signs posted

I agree with SigM4, Costco's written statement does not comply with the Texas law requirement for written effective notice. (3) “Written communication” means: (A) a card or other document on which is written language identical to the following:  “Pursuant to Section 30.06, Penal Code (trespass by li...

Re: Costco prohibit carry - No signs posted

I've been a Costco member since 9/2000. I'm guessing the membership agreement back then was silent regarding guns. And, my renewals have never included a new membership document. Therefore, I believe that at this point in time, I've not been "notified". I was at Costco yesterday and carried concealed.

Re: TX: Houston homeowner shoots intruder in legs

Shot thru the door. At night. Any issues? Based on the scanty details presented, I would think not. Attempting to unlawfully enter an occupied habitation is justification to presume the occupier of the habitation acted reasonably in using deadly force. Even if reasonable, we must still have to have...

Re: Timing…a Missing Component in Training

John Correa hammers this all the time: Never "draw from the drop" (don't draw your gun when a gun is aimed at you), wait your turn. Keep your cool and comply. Wait until you have an opportunity. Hopefully, one will come. And, yes, there are a few exceptions, but to "go" when the criminal is trying t...

Re: EDC Titanium Pen

Very nice indeed!

For a lower priced alternative, take a look at a Zebra F701 pen (all stainless steel) for about six bucks on Amazon. It's technically not a tactical pen, but being that it's all stainless steel, I think it could be.

Honestly, I don't know why some country hasn't "taken care" of this guy already.

Re: Lessons from observing 5000 gunfights

I took a 2-day knife class with Steve Tarani. Some info was very interesting and very scary. Interestingly, he showed us the eight stab spots that are kill spots and the heart was not one of them. If you're interested in karambit training, Steve will be teaching a class in Fort Worth in September.

Attempted Carjacking - Hulen Mall

Clifs: Two BGs try to carjack a BMW from a 68 year-old woman. A witness pulls his gun and thwarts the attack.

Re: Flying to Colorado

Took American Airlines from DFW Airport to Florida and back. American Airlines does NOT require ammo in a separate case. But, ammo can't be loaded into mags and the ammo should be stored in the original box or in a box that doesn't allow the ammo to move around loosely. I had one hard Pelican case (...

Re: Church shooting in Tarrant County - White Settlement

One aspect not (yet) mentioned by John Correia is that that the first parishioner did the "draw from the drop" which is a no-no in most cases. To me, the parishioner didn't have many good options, but perhaps his best option was to "get off the X" and run.

Re: Friendswood,TX Walgreens armed robbery

I can't help but to wonder: The quote states that the shooter saw the actor exit the Walgreens and then the shooter fired his weapon. So, was the robbery over as the actor exited? If so, that may not be considered a good shoot.
