What about making 30.06 apply to off duty LEO's as well? It wouldn't take away any owner rights and might make them think twice about putting up a sign in the first place.

I would like changes in Texas law to either remove the 30.06 and allow carry in all public places, or require locked storage, metal detectors at all doors and adequate security for all places that want to post a 30.06.
I'm going to agree with txinvestigator on this one. This is a bad idea. I agree with you on protecting on race, sex and religion, but not CHL. We don’t need government telling a business who they must do business with. As much as I hate see a 30.06 sign I respect there decision. I don’t agree with it, but they have that right.

I’ve been a CHL for a little over a year, and one of the things I have learned is we don’t want to mess up 30.06. I just afraid that someone will try to modify it like you suggest and in the process some anti-gun legislator will add text that actually makes it worse and it passes as part of a compromise. I know this is unlikely, but you have to admit 30.06 is a currently a great advantage to CHL’s. At least we don’t have to follow any of the gangbusters signs.

If a business strips a person of their ability to defend themselves, that business should be strictly liable for any damages resulting from that action... just simple fair play.
This might be a stupid question but is they a law that exists that protects a business with a 30.06 sign? Also assuming we do get the “strictly liable addition, would the same apply to employers that forbid employees to carry on job?

I’m not saying I don’t like the idea, becouse I love this idea. Just some questions I had.
