Re: Current status?

As I understand it, since SB 730 and SB 1164 did not get a second reading on the House floor by midnight Tuesday, they are dead. This was not all the Dem's fault. Re: MOVING FROM GENERAL CALENDAR TO 'MAJOR' CALENDAR??

McCall said he was shocked by the chubbing (the House's version of a filibuster) since he spent all session working with Democrats to get their bills to the floor for debate. "I'm frustrated," he said. "We're all frustrated." To bad he wasn't as interested in getting our bills t...

Re: ACTION NEEDED! Employer parking lot bills

Call and fax Joe Strauss, Speaker of the House also.

As the ranking R, and the one who staffed the committees, he has some obligation to see this bill through.

Re: Is campus carry dead?

Now it is time to contact your rep (again) and ask that they support this bill. Faxes and emails over the weekend, calls Monday morning. Let them know that we are paying attention.

Re: Campus-Carry Bills are dying!!!

It's probably not a bad idea to call Speaker of the House, Joe Straus, and ask him to exert his influence as Speaker to get this bill through Calendars.

Gun Show Background Check Act of 2009

Senator Frank Lautenberg has introduced the "Gun Show Background Check Act of 2009".

Thomas does not have it listed yet, but from the presser it sounds as bad as can be expected.

Re: Last Minute Flurry of New Bills Filed

It is interesting that Yvonne Davis did not file her "One Gun a Month" bill or her "Gun Show Loophole" bill. Does that mean she has decided that exercises in futility are indeed futile? Or has she decided that this type of legislation will get more traction on the federal level? ...
