Re: California Move to Restrict Deadly Force

Did not read the article, but it seems that less-than-lethal force needs to be very much more effective and foolproof. And less-than-lethal should not mean less-than-really-hurt.

Re: Would you fire this?

Does anyone know what the electrolytic process was to remove the rust? Initially the anode is the work piece, but at the end it shows the work piece being the cathode.

Re: Today in Trump's new term as President

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/07/us/trump-tax-figures.html New York Times snags Trump’s old tax returns. Apparently during a time when he was losing a lot of money. Are there laws against possessing a person’s tax returns without their permission? NYT from 1995. They knew all of this. There is no...

Re: Government regulation of social media?

Isn't this the whole conundrum? If tech companies own the medium, and we are free to use or not use or use our own, then they have the right to what is, or is not, allowed on their property? All other free-enterpise mediums get to chose their agenda. The real issue is that Facebook, Twitter, etc., ...

Re: Government regulation of social media?

If someone owns the platform free speech doesn’t apply. Just like this forum. Charles’ rules. I find it difficult to side with people who complain when communist owned “socialism media” sites censor them. I can't find the relevant laws at the moment, but a line is crossed when a social media organi...

Re: When does a school zone end?

I assume that when you pass the sign in the other direction that you have left the school zone, even if there is no end sign. Nothing else makes sense. We have a weird one close by. A blinking light at a charter school. You pass the blinking light facing the other direction and a few hundred feet la...

I would consider this takedown cruel and unusual if the recipient were not so deserving.

Re: Will Obama be arrested for illegal spying on Trump campaign?

He might be indicted. Might be convicted. Won't serve time - I don't think it's good precedent to start putting ex-presidents in the clink.

But he is paying the price. He looks sick. His legacy is almost completely erased. I would not wish his retirement on anyone.

Jingo. A perfectly good word that describes a perfectly good inclination. It became derogatory somehow, and that's where we are with that word.

Re: TX: The Low Standards of Hate in the Sixth Worst Airport

This will not end well for those councilmen who voted to exclude Chick-Fil-A. Mayor McDoofusberg claimed after the fact that it was about not being open on Sunday. The good thing for Chick-Fil-A is that their sales go up every time something like this happens. The good thing for us is to identify wh...

Re: TX: How to dispose of your bump stops in Houston

What would happen if I made several bump stocks that did not fit any existing rifle, and tried to sell them online? There's only one way to find out. Keep us updated please. I think I'll try making some Imaginary ones first, to fit the Imaginary Arms ARR1500, a carbine that's still in the napkin sk...

Re: TX: How to dispose of your bump stops in Houston

The goverment cannot force you to destroy your own property without due compensation. That would seem to be true in principal, but I guarantee you that if you were so unlucky as to be caught using a bump stock by an ATF agent, the agent would have zero guilt about arresting you, confiscating your b...
