Re: Duty to Provide LTC on Voluntary Identification to LEO?

Months ago I had car trouble. It looked like I might have to get a ride from the cop who was diverting traffic, because the tow truck did not have enough room. I told the copy I was carrying. He asked "are you going to shoot me?". That was the end of it. Funny.

Re: Ruth Bader Ginsberg - dies 9.18.2020

There will be no hearings. The nominee is already vetted. The vote could be as early as next week. Just my prediction.

Re: Does anybody have experience with Telegram?

It is a secure chat/messaging app. It keeps no logs or records on calls and on "secret chats" with end to end encryption. This article is from April 2019, but gives a basic understanding of it: https://www.androidauthority.com/what-is-telegram-messenger-979357/ You can also read about it on Wikiped...

Re: Some people have no decency

Many of you appear to be falling into what is correctly named a false dichotomy. There are choices besides Trump and Biden. While I have not paid attention to all of the choices, I do know that Jo Jorgenson is the presidential nominee for the Libertarian party. As long as everyone continues to beli...

Re: Shooting dog in self defense - Civil Immunity

I searched the forum and could only find cases where police officers had immunity from civil suit in the event they shot and killed someone’s dog. My question is this; does the statutory immunity from a civil suit if the use of deadly force is justified against another person, also apply in the eve...

Re: Alternative to static IP address?

I'm trying to find out if you can assign an IPV6 persistent public address without the provider helping. Is IPV6 an option?

Deadly force against blinding lasers

I assume no one would disagree that a high power laser causes grievous bodily hard, and may be met with deadly force. Same as getting splashed with acid. So, low power lasers and harmless liquids may be met with deadly force, like pointing a toy gun? There is no way to distinguish between danger and...

Re: TX: one dead at shooting during police protest in downtown Austin tonight

At this point I'll postpone any opinions on the outcome, but I am simply astonished that the media isn't dwelling on the evil, blood letting, self activating, nasty black rifle the decadent was carrying. I can only surmise those evil black rifles become benign and gentle impotent objects in the han...

Re: Trouble transferring .pst file

If the format is FAT32, the individual file limit size is 4.0 Gb. There is a hack called EFat or something for cameras, but I do believe NTFS is the best solution.

These nutbags have to be sued personally, even if they have no assets. No official indemnification.

Re: Do Springs Take a Set if the Striker is pre-cocked/the hammer cocked?

All materials experience stress relaxation. This is the decay of stress with time. When there stress developed in the material due to deflection decays, the strain becomes permanent. When strain is permanent, then force of spring is deceased. We know this for example, is an issue in metal spring en...

Re: Do Springs Take a Set if the Striker is pre-cocked/the hammer cocked?

There are alloys that "creep" when under constant elastic region stress. That means the molecules move around under stress, and would eventually lose springiness or break. I do not believe any steels do this. Most any piece of metal has residual stresses. Some areas may be stress free, while others ...

Re: Need help with “Essential Businesses”

You can buy underwear at Walmart because Walmart sells food. Can't buy anything at Macy's. All are equal, but some are more equal than others.
