Ya oughta get ya some cheap $2 nail polish and give it a try on the mags. If ya got tired eyes like mine it sure helps. Take your time, let it dry just a few seconds and wipe off the excess with acetone and q-tips. You may play with it awhile to get it right and the only thing your out is about $3.
When you use the acetone it will cause a slight discoloration but its only temporary. I tell you this because none of the post I read mentioned it and it worried me. After some cleanings and oilings to my slide and mags it completely went away.
I have a 40c also that is still all black. I've been kicking around the idea of using a bright silver paint on it to see how it looks. My 9c experienced the discoloration thing too after wiping the excess with paint thinner, but, like yours, that went away with time and maintenance.

Those links work. Very nice looking. Looks like my 9c. One of the guys at work did mine for me using automotive paint. I haven't thought about doing the mags. I like the way that looks. :clapping:

I used crayon on my XD but between wear and a lot of firing in the summer it got messy. I found paint and nail polish was difficult use on the XD because of the shallow stamping.
My M&P on the other hand was different. The stamping was deeper so nail polish was much easier to use. Also, the thinner cheaper nail polish is easier for filling the stamping and more forgiving when working with it. Don't be afraid of multiple coats. "White Ice" looks great on it in my opinion.

The links you provide for the pics are not any good. They direct to a log in page. :headscratch
