FYI: punching a reporter in the jaw can and may/will result in a visit from P.D.
If you are fortunate enough to be visited by an officer over 40, with a satisfactory amount of common sense, you will not be arrested and the D.A. will decline charges and recommend that said reporter consider it a "routine hazard of the job".
Unfortunately their isn't much you can do when said reporter gets every detail of the case wrong except for the spelling of your name.
If it bleeds it leads, the more socioeconomically deprived the better. A single white male, father of the victim, with a good middle class job - page 6 and a 17 second blip on the news at 10.
