Re: Off The Beaten Path - Rusk, TX

Mrs. Oldgringo was the Main Street Manager of Rusk until her retirement in 2004. She has hosted the train ride with past governors, judges and other state visitors on many occasions. That was back when the train was part of the state park system. Unlike the Cumbres and Toltec or the Durango and Sil...

Re: RoT rally 2019 - anybody going?

Pretty much what the title says. Wondering if I'll see anyone there from this forum. I'll probably just ride in on Friday night and attend some festivities downtown but I am staying away from the campground craze. Does anybody know whether the APD will illegally post the whole 6th street as 30.06 a...

Re: An Important Message to NRA Members

So as NRA members we are supposed to just accept that our dues and contributions are being funneled to the political campaigns of those who wish to destroy not only the 2nd Amendment but the NRA itself without expressing any concerns? That members are actually supporting the agenda of those who ref...

Re: Governor signs bill banning red light cameras in Texas

the problem is that someone...I can't remember who, in the House, added an Amendment that allows cities to complete their contracts. There is one here in San Antonio that won't complete until 34, they renewed their contract during the session. They had to renew it before May 7 for the law to allow ...

Re: PA gun transfer laws?

You will need to get it shipped to an ATF licensed dealer in Texas. It is a violation of federal law for a resident of one state to purchase and take possession of any handgun in another state.

Re: TX: DPS trooper’s 3 yo injured by gun.

There will be no charges, no disciplinary action, nothing. Some LEO's are just as negligent when it comes to firearm safety as anyone else. I doubt that nothing will happen. While he is eligible for criminal charges (and should be charged if the DA has ever accepted charges against a non-LEO citize...

Re: Off The Beaten Path - Plainview, TX

While Plainview is still the home and main campus for Wayland Baptist University, the school has greatly expanded and has campuses around the world. Wayland campuses specialize in classes for working adults, especially the military. In 1999, I received my bachelor's degree from the San Antonio campu...

Re: Post Mortem

I'm wondering if there will be a post mortem following this disastrous session of the Tx Leg. Normally we have, you know bills to follow and public hearings to discuss. This year, even the crickets where silent. We got exactly one bill through. Although it was an important bill for folks who live i...

Re: Can someone find this law?

When I was in the academy in 2014 we were shown a the text to a law in response to the NFL’s policy banning off-duty LEOs from carrying at Texas Stadium. The Texas legislator stepped in and basically wrote a law that specifically said that Texas LEOs are never off-duty and can carry virtually anywh...

Re: Can someone find this law?

It may have been drafted in 2014 for the 2015 Legislature, but I could not find any bills doing so for that legislative session. The Texas Legislature Online has a neat function that lets you see exactly how a given statute was worded on a specific date in the past, and Section 2.1305 doesn't even ...

Re: Rashida Tlaib allegiance

The occupation myth again, :banghead: Unfortunately that is nonsensical and false. The entire argument rests upon the false premise that Israel is "occupying" Palestinian land and that Israel has no legitimate claims to the lands in question. At the risk of :deadhorse: : Has there ever been a legit...

Hmm, I wonder if Justin Amash, the other representative from Michigan with Palestinian parents (well Palestinian-born father and Syrian-born mother) ever feels Palestinian in Congress. I doubt it strongly.

Re: Female gun ownership and the rise of fashionable "carrywear"

IMO, the purse market is still highly lacking, and a lot of it is sexist to boot. I won't even look at most of the products, which are toward the frilly or rhinestone-y end of the spectrum. And/or the construction quality just isn't there. And/or the prices are ridiculous for what is offered. And/o...

Re: ATF says bump-stocks have never been used in a crime...

I have to disagree and here’s why. We can all agree that the ATF/left has wanted to ban bumpstocks since the Las Vegas shooting. We can all agree that IF the ATF were to be biased in one direction (hint:they are) they would use any resource available to find records of crime committed with bumpstoc...
