Re: NH: Pick up truck driver charged with negligent homicide in deaths of 7 motorcyclists

Found the link to the story update that has a short blurb to explain the mechanics of the collision: https://boston.cbslocal.com/2019/06/22/randolph-nh-new-hampshire-motorcycle-crash-7-dead-route-2-volodoymyr-zhukovskyy/ Thanks for finding and posting this. It helps me understand more about how it ...

Re: NH: Pick up truck driver charged with negligent homicide in deaths of 7 motorcyclists

The Residue was found at his home in another state (Mass.). He is a Mass resident and the accident occurred in New Hampshire. The New Hampshire police had previously let him go right after the accident. I think its noteworthy that New Hampshire's state motto is to " Live Free or Die", while Massach...

Re: NH: Pick up truck driver charged with negligent homicide in deaths of 7 motorcyclists

I am still curious how the accident occurred. So far as I have seen, no details on how the accident occurred have been released. Since he was charged, I am guessing (and it is only a guess) that he somehow crossed the center line to hit the bikes. What made him cross the line would be critical to an...

Didn’t know you could drive a truck commercially and have a DUI record.
No rules against it as far as I know. Especially no reason for a rule if it was just one offense.

Company would only be headed for trouble if the accident involved him being drunk or high.

Re: Teach me about buying suppressors

I think you should strongly consider Carlson1's point of view. I see no benefit to having any NFA weapon, including suppressors. Having said that, I still want some. I like full auto for fun. It is no use to me for anything but fun. I could see me trying a suppressor, but I don't see it really doing...

Re: Any FFL members in Austin?

I use GT Distributors for FFL transfers. Not as cheap a fee as you mentioned, but fairly reasonable. And if you get there when they aren't too busy, they are usually pretty sociable also.

Re: Off The Beaten Path - Rusk, TX

Mrs. Oldgringo was the Main Street Manager of Rusk until her retirement in 2004. She has hosted the train ride with past governors, judges and other state visitors on many occasions. That was back when the train was part of the state park system. Unlike the Cumbres and Toltec or the Durango and Sil...

Re: RoT rally 2019 - anybody going?

Pretty much what the title says. Wondering if I'll see anyone there from this forum. I'll probably just ride in on Friday night and attend some festivities downtown but I am staying away from the campground craze. Does anybody know whether the APD will illegally post the whole 6th street as 30.06 a...

Re: An Important Message to NRA Members

So as NRA members we are supposed to just accept that our dues and contributions are being funneled to the political campaigns of those who wish to destroy not only the 2nd Amendment but the NRA itself without expressing any concerns? That members are actually supporting the agenda of those who ref...

Re: Governor signs bill banning red light cameras in Texas

the problem is that someone...I can't remember who, in the House, added an Amendment that allows cities to complete their contracts. There is one here in San Antonio that won't complete until 34, they renewed their contract during the session. They had to renew it before May 7 for the law to allow ...

Re: PA gun transfer laws?

You will need to get it shipped to an ATF licensed dealer in Texas. It is a violation of federal law for a resident of one state to purchase and take possession of any handgun in another state.

Re: TX: DPS trooper’s 3 yo injured by gun.

There will be no charges, no disciplinary action, nothing. Some LEO's are just as negligent when it comes to firearm safety as anyone else. I doubt that nothing will happen. While he is eligible for criminal charges (and should be charged if the DA has ever accepted charges against a non-LEO citize...

Re: Off The Beaten Path - Plainview, TX

While Plainview is still the home and main campus for Wayland Baptist University, the school has greatly expanded and has campuses around the world. Wayland campuses specialize in classes for working adults, especially the military. In 1999, I received my bachelor's degree from the San Antonio campu...

Re: Post Mortem

I'm wondering if there will be a post mortem following this disastrous session of the Tx Leg. Normally we have, you know bills to follow and public hearings to discuss. This year, even the crickets where silent. We got exactly one bill through. Although it was an important bill for folks who live i...
