Re: 49 years ago: Saigon falls to NVA - the Vietnam war is o

If yoou have not see the movie documentary "Last Days in Vietnam", then you must. As a child of the war, I came to America in 1977. I had the blessing of living under Communism for a year before escaping. I call it a blessing because the oppression, injustice, and suppression of free thoug...

Re: HK VP9 thoughts?

I own two VP9 and absolutely love them- from grip to trigger to ergonomics. I also love my Glocks (G26, G19, G17, G34) but I have had to modify every single one before I likin them. The only factor i have changed on my VP9s have been the sights. There is no reason you cannot carry them concealed wit...

Blauer-Jeff Gonzales Concealed Combatives Course

My thoughts on this course from November 21-23, 2014 Course Objective: to teach physical combatives in the event of a surprise ambush/attack prior to drawing your concealed weapon. The ideal scenario is that we are so situationally aware that we can draw our weapon and stop the threat if our life wa...

Re: Furious! Elderly FW woman attacked at WM

I came across this article that reveals the potential perils of intervening as a bystander. It is not meant to justify any proposed action or inaction mentioned with the purse-snatch incident. However, it does shed light on the fog of war. I think everyone has been very thoughtful on their responses...

Re: 9mm

I own a sig p226, M&P full size VTAC 9 mm, Glock 17 Gen4, Glock 19 Gen4, and Colt New Agent. I have used both the Sig p226 and the Glock 19 in separate pistol courses (round counts 500-800 each course). My preferences are as follows: Grip ergonomics-unmodified out of the box: Sig p226 Bore axis-...

Re: Furious! Elderly FW woman attacked at WM

HIndisght is 20/20. For all of our well meaning intentions, none of us can be absolutely certain what our actions would be. The Shark Tank Test and Justification versus Necessity are two principles that help me. Shark Tank Test: if something was thrown into a tank full of hungry sharks, what would m...

Re: Do You See An Osteopath or an MD?

There are good and bad physicians in both MD and DO categories. In regards to primary care fields (internal medicine, family practice, pediatrics, etc), I have seen excellence in both MD and DO. When it comes to specialty care, however, I have found more consistency in quality with MDs than DOs. Whe...

Re: Glock 19....gen 3 or 4

I concur that the early problems of Gen 4s have been corrected. I own Gen 4 versions of G34, two G17s, two G19s, and one G26. None have had any issues. I never purchased Gen 3s because of their large grip hump. It did not feel comfortable to my hands. I like the Gen 4s for three reasons: 1- more erg...

I also use a star for cleaning the chamber and secure it to a rod as well. Even better is a soft chamber brush from Brownells

Re: Tavor rifle-Trigger Geissele

You're right, the adjustment was to remove one of the springs to lighten the trigger pull. I saw a lot of you tube videos on that as well as read various opinions on different forums. My interpretation of the available data was that removing the spring definitely lightens the trigger pull. However, ...
