I would imagine that the new version of CHL-16 would have a (brief) definition of what the word display means in that context.

The term "printing" does NOT exist in Texas Penal Code like it does in some other states; basically, it is meaningless. However, there was some concern that accidental exposure might land someone in hot water due to the current wording (though there doesn't seem to be many cases to support that). So, the wording was changed to make it even more clear that it must be done ON PURPOSE to be an offense. I believe it was a positive change.

Well, here is one scenario that has been discussed a time or two on this forum that seemingly shouldn't be a problem under the new law: You go to a friends house carrying your newly purchased pistol. You want to show it to him. Previously, it was taken as one opinion that Texas Penal Code made that illegal, even if you weren't in a situation to be caught doing it. Now, the way I read the new language, it is no longer illegal to do so. I cannot see how your friend's house, indoors, could be considered a "public place".
