I vaguely remember, as a kid, Jimmy Carter telling everyone that America's best days were behind us, that we couldn't beat the Soviets (we'd just have to live with them controlling a lot of the world), and that the oil was running out and everyone needed to turn down the thermostat and put on a sweater. Don't get me wrong on this, I'm not saying that turning a blind eye to our problems will make them go away, but neither will a defeatist attitude. Leadership matters, and when it comes to the Second Amendment and more importantly, Texans' right to keep and bear arms, the members of this forum should be foremost among that leadership. Ronald Reagan had his fair share of problems, but at least he had the right attitude.
