Re: UT campus carry rules

After reading what UT is wanting and what the Law says, it is hard to believe that we have such obvious low IQ people in charge of our institutions of higher education. Liberalism is destroying our education system. I hope to dissuade these guys from making bad policies. I am probably only one of t...

Re: UT campus carry rules

Well, my email worked. I got a response from the UT President's office, here is what it says, President Fenves asked me to reach out to you to respond to your comments. He appreciates your feedback. Might we be able to discuss your concerns over the next few days? Thanks, Carlos Looks like we might ...

Re: UT campus carry rules

Here is my reply to President Fenves: What do yall think??! Dear President Fenves, I want to thank you for your due diligence and effort in regards to the Campus Carry bill's implementation on UT's Campus and auxiliary sites. I would like to let you know that a few of your policies seem to be unreas...

Re: 30.06 vs 30.07 reporting

The Texas 3006 App works so well; a few small bugs, but really good for Version 1. Like Rhino said, it alerts you when approaching or passing by places that restrict and they tell you what type of restriction as well. Very good.

Re: Is shooting through your front door legal in Texas

You're O.K. if you can convince the jury that you didn't know your wife had ordered the pizza. Put enough lead in the Domino's driver, and HE won't be able to testify against you.
EXACTLY! :iagree:

Re: Is shooting through your front door legal in Texas

From chapter 9 of the Texas Penal Code Sec. 9.31. SELF-DEFENSE. (a) Except as provided in Subsection (b), a person is justified in using force against another when and to the degree the actor reasonably believes the force is immediately necessary to protect the actor against the other's use or atte...

Re: University of Texas & Campus Carry

Nice Vol Texan!!! That was very well written and it was great you have stated the facts, I too will cite the Texas DPS website when I finish my letter to the university. There is no reason for them to put the signs up unless its political pressure. Let's remember that the UT chancellor, and former N...

Re: University of Texas & Campus Carry

The only reason I posted today was because as a student, we all received the campus wide email from the President this morning sharing this information. I figure they will start reading them and the decision will be made late November or early December. Here's the email: Dear UT community, As you kn...

University of Texas & Campus Carry

I am currently a student at the University of Texas at Austin. I have my concealed carry and am disarmed every time I walk onto the UT campus to go to school. I need your help. The president of the university sent an email today for the input from all citizens alike including students, staff, parent...

Re: Lifetime Fitness and Open Carry

I guess I probably wouldn't have any luck going in open carrying. The guy at the front desk would just say that the gun isn't allowed and I would have to turn around and go back. However, if they don't update their 30.06 sign, I could technically go in CHLing because their contract neither legally b...

Lifetime Fitness and Open Carry

I currently have a membership to Lifetime Fitness here in South Austin. I have been a member since 2008; however, I have only had my CHL since 2013 but have been successfully carrying everywhere I am legally able to besides Lifetime, obviously. However, I have a question for those smarter than me, a...

Re: CHL & Your Church

I'll just continue to carry concealed while at church. This won't intimate anyone, and it will give me a tactical advantage in case a Charleston sleeper cell shooting happens.
