Re: Portable Generators

Like I said earlier, I have a Ford 11000 watt that works great in an outage. The biggest reason I got a generator is because my wife is on oxygen 24/7. Yes she has the portable cylinders but they are only good for a couple of hours and really too heavy for her to carry around the house. Now, just a ...

Re: Portable Generators

I have a couple of them for jobsite use. They work good for that except for a couple of things. (1) They don't like to start in cold weather and (2) you have to have the carburetor cleaned or replaces about every 300 hours. I just keep a couple of carbs in stock for immediate replacement. Also, for...

Re: Stay Warm and Safe the Next Few Days

It just so happens that larger homes are far less likely to have heat pump systems because a heat pump would never heat a 2500 plus square foot home. I get so tired of everyone looking to be a victim. Next thing we will see is morons playing the race card. I have to respectfully disagree here. My 2...

Re: Stay Warm and Safe the Next Few Days

One issue I am noticing is defenitely affecting grid selection for shut downs. Areas with a high number of heat pump/electric heat seem to be having longer down times. I think this is due to the large demand these areas create. Take for example a home with a three ton heat pump and 15KW of back up ...

Re: 2nd oldest grand daughter apartment gone

As we went around getting her some clothes, shoes, and toiletries she wanted to go by the apartment. Against my better judgment I took her. The building it a total loss. She handled it pretty well, better that I would have in her place. However, we stopped for dinner and a tidal wave of emotions fin...

2nd oldest grand daughter apartment gone

Please pray for my 2nd oldest grand daughter. She had just got an apartment of her own 2 months ago. We helped her buy new furniture and Monday my wife took her shopping for kitchen utensils. Yesterday her apartment building caught fire. Due to the wind it was quickly a 3 alarm fire and traveled fro...

COVID and the holidays

First I would like to pray for all of those with this virus. May those that have it heal without issues and those that don't have it, stay virus free. Now, the reason for this post. I know there are others that had strange holiday's due to the COVID. Let's hear how yours was different. For us, we no...
