Re: New 4473

I’ve seen mention of this updated 4473 in the gunosphere over the past couple of weeks. I ordered a new-model Colt Python this week and was curious to see if my LGS/range would use the new form when I picked it up yesterday. Nope. I mentioned it to the employee that checked me out, and he said they ...

PM held in Outbox?

I sent a PM to Admin on the 2nd of March but it’s still in my Outbox. Is this expected behavior?

Re: NY Range Safety Officer Killed by Negligent Discharge During USPSA Competition

If all instructions and rules were followed, it most likely would have happened during re-holstering after “load and make ready” at the beginning of the run, not at the end during/after “Unload and show clear/hammer down/holster.” That’s a big IF. Stupid stuff happens - in the best of circumstances ...

Re: TX: 3 Police Officers shot in Cedar Park

I am a Chaplain for the Cedar Park PD and a Catholic Permanent Deacon. Still an active scene, less than a mile from my house. Received a shelter in place text from the city. Scheduled to preach this evening at Mass, so off I went. Home safe now. ETA: Didn’t leave for Church until we received additio...

Re: CZ fans tell me what you think

IMHO well-built, reliable firearms. I have a Shadow 2, P-10C, P-09, and (not a pistol) 805 BREN S1. Shadow 2 is every bit as good as my STI 2011, maybe better, and was less expensive. The 805 is my favorite non-AR semi-auto rifle.

I think they are good values as well, even the $$ ones.

Re: 2 New Guns: a Ruger PC9 carbine, and a Mossberg 930 SPX

Congrats! That reminds me to take my PC9 out for some exercise! I put a PA micro red-dot on mine - works great, even given my astigmatism issues. I have a 930 JM Pro, not exactly the same animal as the SPX , but it’s a good shooter. You may find that you need somewhat higher powered loads for reliab...

I’m experiencing the same issue. I too have ATT Gigapower service.

I do not have the same experience on other sites.

Re: Bought a new toy

I picked up mine at my local range last week. Immediately converted it to use Glock mags. Mine shot well with 115, 124 and 147 grain ammo. I noticed quite a bit more gas since the action is closer to your face than a 9mm pistol is. I have no issue with its function, but oh my! this thing is homely. ...

Re: ball vs flat vs hollow point for range ammo?

I like flat nose projectiles for the range and competition use: they produce well-defined holes. Round nose projectiles tend to tear the paper.

Finding FP ammo is not an issue for me since I reload.

Re: Colion Noir Lashes Out At Claims NRA Is Racist

I do enjoy Mr. Noir’s content. Why does the headline at BA employ a phrase like “lashes out” instead of something that has a more reasonable tone, perhaps “responds to”? It’s on a gun-friendly site, not a mainstream newspaper, for goodness sake!

M1 Carbine
SMLE
FAL
“Fine” 1911 in 45 ACP. I have a Kimber Custom II, but that doesn’t scratch the itch.
