Re: Allen TX hockey carry??

My question primarily was concerned with whether or not it was a high school, college, or professional event that would be illegal anyway. I’m not familiar with “The Americans.” Unless you’re talking about the television show. Remember, college athletic events are no longer automatically illegal si...

Re: IL: Chicago CCL holder kills armed robber on street

I agree with everyone that this has a happy ending, but this is not the end for the young woman. Illannoy has designated any transportation system that uses public funds to be target zone for criminals. See , public transportation are gun free zones. How do I know? I have an Illannoy license. One o...

Re: Where to begin with a HAM radio?

As I read the proposed bill, it is a defense to prosecution if one used a hands free device, and in the bill it defines a hands free device as including a push-to-talk function. Since almost all mobile vhf/uhf ham radios art PTT, we are not really affected. However, this is an onerous bill which cou...

Re: Your thoughts

The F-4s could've been from anywhere. In the 70s, the mantra was "speed is life and the lower the better", to avoid the then anti-air defenses. So, we practiced flying low level navigation very fast, but only on approved pre-published routes. Originally called VFR trainging routes, in the 80s the FA...

"Former Marine" more refers to your active duty status. However, there is no such thing as an "ex-Marine".

That one really surprises me, because all the Baylor S&W places in Waco are valid posted.

Re: 30.06/30.07 question

If it's a 51% location, it doesn't matter whether they post the sign or not. According to PC §46.035: (b) A license holder commits an offense if the license holder intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carries a handgun under the authority of Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code, regardless...

Re: .45LC

Not sure why you're asking. I load my own 45LC with BP for cowboy shooting. I also cast the lead boolits (230 gr). This keeps the costs down. My muzzle velocities are in the range of 800 fps. They are very reliable for the intended purpose, but I have no doubt they would be effective in a defensive ...

Re: New Jersey criminalizes speech

Actually, this bill relates to the purchase of parts to manufacture 3D printed and other ghost guns. It also criminalizes the “facilitation”, which could mean if you supplied software that could be used to 3D print. The thread title is inaccurate.

Re: David French - Why I carry a gun

It was a good article until it got to support for red flag laws. I agree to a point, but there will come a time when we will have to address this. All of the recent mass shootings had one thing in common - the shooter had been previously known to have problems. To protect ourselves from being denie...

Re: 22 November, 1963

I was in Dallas, HS junior. A lot of kids skipped to go downtown, but I didn't. My Dad was returning from a hunting trip with rifles in the backseat. He was stopped and questioned, but fortunately he had a deer with him. On Sunday, I was downtown waiting for a bus across from the Police HQ and heard...

Re: Require All Prohibited Places to Post

Abraham, I made the suggestion because I thought it was a good idea. Just because I happen to be familiar with other states' laws, or get an idea from somewhere does not mean it is not a good idea just because of the source. (I happen to be one of the few Texans who has an Illinois non-resident CCL....

Re: Require All Prohibited Places to Post

Boy, that went south in a hurry. Since the lege is always changing things, perhaps you should consider moving instead. I'm just making a reasonable suggestion like everyone else this session. And for the record, I'm a life long Texan and support constitutional carry, but we're never going to get tha...

Require All Prohibited Places to Post

I don't think getting rid of 30.06/7 is politically possible. However, it would be beneficial if Texas did what Illinois requires. Illinois has a prescribed legal no-guns sign. In addition to private entities, Illinois requires all statutorily off-limits places (such as schools, courts, public trans...
