Re: Africa: In case you were thinking of visiting

Just got back from Uganda today, mission trip in the north at a vocational school. Had a great experience and made some great friends. Depending on where you go, you have to be prepared to rough it, protect from mosquitoes. Otherwise it’s a beautiful country and nice people.

Re: Firearm in vehicle at work

The problem will be that it will be hard to prove wrongful termination since Texas is an “at will” state. They don’t have to give any reason for firing you. The parking lot law only protects you from prosecution for trespass, or other prosecution. IANAL.

Re: Lowes and Veteran Discounts

Home Depot only gives discounts year round to retired military, but gives veterans discounts on certain holidays, like Memorial Day weekend.

Re: Forbus 1911 Holster

I have to agree with WildBill. I also have a Fobus paddle for my PX4 Storm (.45). The retention feature is actually a plus. You actually have to twist clockwise while drawing to unlock (RH side), and it comes out very easily. I shoot steel, and have no problem drawing, just takes practice. The upsid...

Re: Shooting at Twin Peaks in Waco

Reports said four of the nine had police bullets in them. Actually this is a case of DA incompetence. Cookie cutter warrants and bails, and a prosecution strategy that was unobtainable. And then the DA (Reyna) was voted out for this and other cronyism and competency issues. The new DA determined the...

And I can tell you from personal experience that TABC will act. I even got a call from an agent asking for more info on a report I registered with the app.

Re: Should we abolish the Electoral College?

If you want to see this in practice, just look at Illinois. Chicago dems and Cook County control the entire state. A large part of IL is conservative but has no vote/power.

Texas CPS takes kids out of deplorable living conditions all the time. I don't see how this is any different.

Re: How to report improper §30.06 signs

I politely pulled the Bartender over and told her she needed to explain to the owner that their signage was unlawful and got the heck out of there as quickly as I could. Why was it improper? Was it actually licensed as a 51% place? If it is not a RED sign license, it is not illegal to carry there e...

Hard to tell what kind of gun. I recall the original Ruger LCP was recalled for a fix, because it could discharge if dropped (DA with one in the pipe).

Re: OH: Good gal w/ Ruger .380 kills BG brandishing Springer 9MM.

I carry Federal HST 90gr JHP in my 380, based on test reports I have read. I am not concerned about 380 effectiveness, and it's nice to see this validating field report.

Re: Wear seat belts - even in the back seat!

Am I mistaken in thinking that Texas State Law require all persons in a vehicle to use seatbelts? Only in the front seat, unless they're under 17 years old. http://texascarlaws.com/seat-belt-laws/ That page is out of date. All persons in a vehicle must wear a safety belt. https://www.dps.texas.gov/...
