Re: TX: Let the homeless pick thru dumpsters

From what I read the victim wasn't armed and even if he did charge him or even a regular police officer they have no right to use deadly force. Imagine having to look for food ect. Out of a dumpster "life apparently is pretty bad already" then you get shot/killed. Can't wait to see what how many ye...

Re: Did I Miss Something - Renewal

Yesterday I overheard a conversation and part of that conversation related to renewal of your LTC. What I heard was that on every third renewal you must go to that fingerprint place that DPS uses and be fingerprinted after which the prints are electronically sent to the DPS and some type of backgro...

Re: Trump: Banning Suppressors?

While I do not agree with the Trump administration I do see what I believe is their logic: The truth of the matter is that Silencers, like machine guns, are relatively unusual in regards to the general public due to the NFA. Since they are unusual they do not qualify for protection under Heller as i...

Re: Trump: Banning Suppressors?

Bump stocks being banned is more than a 2A right. It is government confiscation without reimbursement of legally owned property. Same thing if they confiscate land that you own to build a shopping center. The issue of the government stealing your private property that previously was legal to own is...

Re: Gun Storage programs in Texas?

Just an update, while checking my email I saw Alice Tripp had sent out an email with the subject line of "Balanced and Rhetoric Free" that contained a quote from an email sent by Joe Bartozzi. He is the president of the NSSF and in his email he says: This year, we are happy to announce that we have ...

Re: An Important Message to NRA Members

So as NRA members we are supposed to just accept that our dues and contributions are being funneled to the political campaigns of those who wish to destroy not only the 2nd Amendment but the NRA itself without expressing any concerns? That members are actually supporting the agenda of those who ref...

Re: Gun Storage programs in Texas?

I tracked down what I believe is the actual legislation, this snippet is from HB1: 48.Statewide Safe Gun Storage Campaign. Included in the amounts appropriated above in Strategy G.1.1, Headquarters Administration, is $500,000 in fiscal year 2020 and $500,000 in fiscal year 2021 in General Revenue to...

Re: Gun-handling - Ken Hackathorn and Bill Wilson go off

Simple question.....If YOU think that it is a 'bad thing' to drop the slide with the supplied lever, then why is said lever shaped in such a manner to facilitate doing so? Simple solution.....Make YOUR gun without such a specifically shaped lever to do so. It's dropping slide without feeding...

Re: Gun-handling - Ken Hackathorn and Bill Wilson go off

Perfect. So please provide your risk assessment comparing the potential, as well actual, reliability failures across the two platforms based on recorded, verified lifetime field data. That would be highly instructive. And rest assured, I did not assume that your derogatory comment regarding "fanboy...

Re: Gun-handling - Ken Hackathorn and Bill Wilson go off

While the barrel lugs on a Glock don't take as much of a beating, they still get one and will show signs of damage after enough empty slide releases. The takedown lever "fix" only transfers the stress (and eventual damage) from the takedown lever to the locking block and frame. I saw a pre-gen3 Glo...

Re: An Important Message to NRA Members

Sadly Tom Gresham has jumped on the "NRA BAD!!!!" bandwagon based on his recent tweets. I even tweeted a link to a previous post from Charles and called Tom's attention to it. Got a boiler plate reply that referenced media statements made by NRA officials before Tom deleted his tweet. It's been a wh...

Re: Speaker Bonnen sued in Federal Court for 1st amendment violations, blocking critics on Facebook

I see a reference to the Davison V. Randall decision which was a fourth circuit case that was never heard by the USSC IIRC, so how does that come into play as case law in the fifth circuit where a Texas citizen is suing a Texas official?
