Re: Ring Doorbell

Keep in mind that if you go with a Ring Pro and you use hardwired chimes, there is an issue where the Texas heat will kill the LiPo battery in them after 18 months or so. The doorbell itself will keep working, but your hardwired chimes will suddenly stop working. No alert or anything from the app. ...

Re: Driving to California, what gun to bring along?

While I'd never live in CA, I'm fortunate enough to work remotely for a large CA-based company. The downside is that I have to go there quarterly. One of the times I was there, the San Bernardino shooting happened, so having a gun with me (when/where I can) is a requirement from the wife! I fl...

A lot of the newer systems can send push notifications if it detects movement.

Re: Home Security Cameras.

Another option if you don’t want to do IP, is HD-TVI, which runs over Siamese coax. Downside is that you have to wire up a power panel, the upside is that the cameras are usually a lot cheaper. Monoprice even sells them now. TVI is also compatible with old analog cameras, so if you have an older sys...

Re: The perfect "truck gun"

I just figured I'd let everybody know what I decided to go for (in case anybody cares! :) ). I really appreciated everybody's ideas and feedback. I was really much interested in mainly .300 BLK in a short rifle, preferably suppressed, since obviously I won't be able to grab for hearing protection i...

Re: The perfect "truck gun"

These are all good points (and suggestions!). I guess I should have said "The best compromise for an all-around truck gun" :). While I do have a ranch in East Texas, that's not my primary residence, and when I do go out there, I normally reserve the .458 SOCOM AR-15 and/or the Sig P220 10m...

The perfect "truck gun"

I'm looking for a truck gun, and there are so many possibilities that I'm looking for advice. I think I've narrowed it down to 3: - Sig MPX Pistol - 9mm piston-driven, no "stock", but you can attach a Sig brace, 17" long, 5 lbs ( https://www.sigsauer.com/store/sig-mpx-pistol.html ) - ...

Re: Taco Cabana Open Carry

Interesting.. so I'm guessing either the one at Fairview fell off, or somebody removed it and they never noticed...

There was a completely unrelated sign where I think the sign used to be, so maybe an employee removed it to make room for the other sign and they didn't realize what they were removing.

Taco Cabana Open Carry

Sorry if this is old, I didn't find anything in search... Ever since open carry passed Taco Cabana has a notice posted on in their entryway politely asking people to not open carry. I haven't been recently, so I decided to grab some lunch at the TC in Fairview. On my way in I noticed that the sign w...

Re: SB 88- Making red light camera tickets illegal

Get rid of ALL of them!!! Complete revenue grab. Do a bit of research; most are issued for failure to come to a complete stop while turning right on a red light. No danger to anyone, but annoying and expensive for those who choose to pay them.... And that is EXACTLY what happened to me in Plano. St...

Re: Texas3006.com Birthday T-Shirt Giveaway!

Since I received the t-shirt the same day as I received my ranch gun, my 10mm Sig P220, back from getting Cerakoted and slide milled for a RMR, I took that as a sign that they belonged together.

Thanks again, Russell!

Here they are:
