Re: Instructor Certificate Update

They should have an open bar at the next Austin session. Make it really entertaining.

Re: Instructor Certificate Update

Well...since they lowered the standards to 80% :iagree: I say take what you can get! I have to admit it was better than driving to Austin and hearing them say, "I don't know, someone else will have to answer that." (Usually that means ask an active instructor) Or listening to other ...

Re: TX: Seguin man holsters gun discharging into his testicle

That's a heck of an employee. Stopped the bleeding within minutes. What did he do? Put a tourniquet on it? I might have just handed the guy a first aid kit and said good luck.

I'm going with a grazing wound. Otherwise, I don't think the shootee would be in good spirits.

Re: Renewal question

You should have received a letter from RSD laying out the steps. You can read about it here: https://www.dps.texas.gov/rsd/LTC/news/instructorupdates.htm Expand the bullet points under renewal. You need to jump onto texas.gov and renew your instructor's certification. Fill out an LTC-90. Get a copy ...

Re: Renewal question

I’m hoping I can just take that course without the notice, shoot, fill out the forms and be done. That's a bit confusing. Have you filled out the renewal forms, done the shoot, sent everything in? If not, time to get on that. If you did complete renewal, call them up Monday morning. They'd have sen...

Re: NRA Personal Protection Expo Ft Worth Sept 6-8 2019

Was across the street updating an armorer's certification. Did a quick walk thru during lunch break. Will spend a little more time tomorrow morning. You guys need to carry colored balloons or something to stand out.

Re: Instructor Renewal

Don't know about you guys, but I have a ton of classes booked over the next month plus. Be nice to have the latest and greatest from RSD. I can parse the big pieces for myself, but hearing from RSD sooner than later would be nice.

Re: How to Handle Student's Failed Proficient Test

You would think they would cover all the administrative code stuff in the LTC instructor's course. Never understood why they don't.

Re: NRA Hammered on Fox

The NRA's enemies are always out to get it. That doesn't mean there aren't kernels of truth in what's been reported. The argument 'trust us' doesn't work so well in this era. Folks have been failed by too many institutions that we can all name, churches - charities - governments. How to spot a floun...

Re: NRA Hammered on Fox

It's not the left we need to worry about because they really can't hate the NRA any more than they already do.

It's the membership and those who would like to support the NRA that our nations oldest gun rights organization needs to worry about.

Re: Anyone here use SIG's Pro Shop?

First off, great gun. Love the 220. I'd certainly contact the pro shop and get a job quote. Be sure and see how much refinishing they'll do, i.e., does that include slide and frame? If you have them do it, I'd ask for the upgrade Xray3 sights over the standard SIGLITE sights. Nobody will know your f...

The instructor witness has to sign it, but it's up to you to upload your supporting documents along with the LTC-90.

For not being much of a DA/SA guy, you have pretty good taste. Those are very sweet after Wilson is done with them.
