My check cleared on December 20th. I received the exact same email today.

If you check the CHL-90 form, you'll see that it is possible to apply for both at the same time. Possible, yes! I am talking about those that may not have actually paid attention. But I have never met anyone that went the instructor route without getting the CHL first, so my theory could be way off.

I tried contacting RSD via the contact form, but never heard anything in response, but that was months ago. I figured it wasn't worth worrying about until they fix the list.

The only reason I can think of is that some people may have signed up as an instructor thinking it came with an automatic CHL.

I hope that you do receive some info on all the admin/logistics elements with your certificate. They told me the same thing when I took my class. But, alas, all I ever received was my certificate. Yeah, it appears to just be the excerpts from the DPS instructors training presentation. It seems to follow the course outline. If your presentation follows the current outline, there should be no real need to modify your existing presentation.

Additionally, I would like to know if there has been any discussion on "thigh rigs"? Technically, they do attach to a belt, but also to the thigh via straps. Considering the whole unit relies on a belt for attachment, does that qualify it as a "Belt Holster"?

I was told during the class that we can not conduct any classes until we receive our cert in the mail and have it in hand. Mine took about 3 months to arrive.

That is terrible! I wonder how long it will take to get that corrected. Can't teach a class without the (correct) cert in hand.
