Re: Deadly Force, Theft At Night, Burglary, etc.

From Texas CHL-16 pages 37-38: PC §9.42. DEADLY FORCE TO PROTECT PROPERTY. A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property: (1) if he would be justified in using force against the other under Section 9.41; and (2) when and to the degree he r...

Re: I voted!

Indeed, using a CHL to vote requires them to manually enter information. However there were only 3 people in front of me so it was very short wait time. On a side note, they had a sign up that stated Firearms Prohibited on this premises pursuant to Texas Penal Code 46.03(a)... just in case someone f...

it sure sounded like the ladies gave your oral permission to enter the building despite the signage... well, up until you mentioned the signage then they revoked that permission

Re: Is carrying at a city park legal?

I've never gotten this daycare thing. There's no mention of it anywhere in the law...? §746.3707. Are firearms or other weapons allowed at my child-care center? Subchapter S, Safety Practices Division 1, Safety Precautions September 2003 (no weight) (a) Law enforcement officials who are trained and...

My local academy had the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield Performance Center for $429.99 a couple months ago... $500 seems a bit pricey for Academy

Re: DL Veteran Designation in Lieu of DD214

I had my veteran designation on my DL before I got my CHL. When I sent in a copy of my DD-214, they gave me the discount but not the veteran designation. I ended up moving so I had to put in a change of address online. After I submitted it, I called DPS and noted that my DD-214 was on file when I go...

Re: Full size carry

I have a couple guidelines I go by to determine if it's full size or not. Barrel length Full grip Weight Capacity These are usually what I look at to determine it Care to put some numbers to that such as: barrel...... less than 4" ? Grip........ less than 4" from top of grip to bottom of ...

Re: Open holster lunch at daughter's school.

Sounds about illegal as OC a holster into a 51% location or courthouse... OP, how dare you follow the law to the letter! I carried an emply holster into jury duty! Security asked me if I was a LEO, i said "no", looked at me funny and waved me through. No problems. (Didnt get picked for th...

Luckily 51% areas don't include parking lots or sidewalks.

Re: Pictures Of Your Daily Carry

This makes me happy to know that you, just like myself, don't pamper my firearms regardless of price. Love the STI. I wanted to get a new mustang, but I am just not fond of blade sights. I got the Sig P238 back when they first came out and love it in every aspect. Cheers. :cheers2: Thanks, Charger....

Re: Can you still get a CHL with an OTH under 21?

I seem to remember another poster that had OTH discharge that was upset because he wasn't getting the veteran discount because DPS said he wasn't entitled. Then he appealed it to his rep and they changed their stance. (or something along those lines). Is this a similar situation? No, that other per...

Re: Can you still get a CHL with an OTH under 21?

My opinion is no. OTH is Other Than Honorable, therefore I would not consider that to be Honorable. "Other Than Honorable or an OTH. This discharge is usually given after administrative separation board based most commonly for failure of a drug or alcohol urinalysis test, but also can be based...

Re: Can you still get a CHL with an OTH under 21?

Official requirements in Government Code 411.172 (g)(2) says: "Was discharged under honorable conditions..." Does it say anywhere in your DD214 what your "honor" status is? There is no box for that. It seems that unless it is a full dishonorable discharge, they would have no way...
