God bless the compassionate warrior

This moved me. If all you've heard of Rush is hard rock and screeching vocals, I think you may find there's more. Members of the US Army Band, in tribute to Neal Peart, Time Stand Still - https://youtu.be/aAPSK_cV5n0 . I think I need to send a donation to Wounded Warriors, https://www.woundedwarrior...

Re: Another Meme Thread

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49532314986_a58527f468.jpg Good advice, but too late for me. I married an Appalachian dream. When my mountain gal brings home a squirrel, it's shot from one eye to the other. That way, she didn't waste any meat and the pelt is in good shape. Yes, ladies and gentl...

Re: WTT for 30.06 dies

I almost didn't click this thread, because I don't wish ill of anyone.

Whoever WTT is, the tragedy of his death overshadows his enthusiasm for 30.06 or 30.07.

Peace to all.

Oh wait, reloading dies.

Never mind.

Re: Another Walmart Shooting

I have to laugh when I hear some people don't carry because they don't go anywhere dangerous. Heck, if you go to your bank, WM, C-store, or gas station, believe us, you are going someplace that is potentially dangerous. SIA For sure. thus my signature line. The standard I settled on is not to go pl...

Re: Strange experience in a big-box store

We're not in a large town. Word of mouth travels quickly. I don't think anyone I know by name connects me to the conversations I had in the store, which is fine, but there was a thank-you to "the gentleman and his wife" getting shared around on Facebook. I don't use Facebook. My wife found it. I don...

Re: Strange experience in a big-box store

To me you were being as creepy as the guy you said was stalking. Walking up to total strangers telling them to look out for some other guy and then offering to "escort" them seems as weirdly suspicious as anything. I think instead of playing Maxwell Smart yourself, you should have simply informed t...

Re: Strange experience in a big-box store

Do you write suspense novels? You make my day! I have a short non-fiction piece I'd like to finish, intended to help volunteer organizations spot financial misdeeds before they get out of hand. I'm not an accountant, so I may not be the best person to tackle the subject. On the other hand, I feel c...

Strange experience in a big-box store

Yeah, I know. Strange people in a big box store. Who would have thought? Anyway, there we are, smart-shopping for Items and Products. I've alerted on odd behavior in the canned goods. A gentleman sought defilade behind what I think they call an "end cap." He is peering between shelves down the aisle...

Re: Questionable comment in Outdoor Life article on AR accuracy

My guess is the only differences are the drag the bolt experiences against the follower versus the top of the next round to be fed. As the magazine empties, the moment (torque) on the rifle should change a little. However, by the time the bolt has moved out of breech, the bullet is out of the barrel...

Re: State of the union 2020

There is a new internet thing out there. “Send Nancy a New Copy” Gives her two addresses and a link where to get a copy of the speech. Ha! I had the same idea. Once again, I wasn't very original, but I think I might do it. Tearing up a state of the union speech, a thing mandated in the Constitution...

Failure to respond comes with a maximum of $1000 fine and six months in county jail for the individual. No protection of office. I like it. Too bad more laws aren't written that way.
Does that include legislators? :evil2:
Yep. Penalties are predictably rare.

I just realized I don’t know when the Super Bowl happens this year or which teams are playing. No need to enlighten me, I’m fine.

Defense to prosecution is LTC like the wrongful exclusion law for tenants and owners, for example. I like the Texas Public Information Act, whi...
