Re: CZ Scorpion Pistol to SBR

Also, even if you put a 3-lug mount on both weapons, you still have to remove the piston and substitute a fixed barrel spacer anyway to go from a pistol to a carbine. So unless I’m missing something, I don’t see an advantage there. But I can see how it would make switching from pistol to pistol, or...

Re: CZ Scorpion Pistol to SBR

Edited to add...... is there any other reason than convenience for using a locking lug type of mount for a suppressor? I have an Obsidian pistol suppressor, and it is direct thread mounted. Are the lug type mounts as secure in terms of keeping the can concentric to the bore? I'll echo what Scott sa...

Re: CZ Scorpion Pistol to SBR

^^^Nice. I know you said you’re not the biggest fan of the color, but I kind of like it. As you noted doing a light coat of a brown or something over top might not look too bad either. Here’s my completed Scorpion SBR sporting the HBIndusties Micro K handguard and barrel profile. https://s5.postimg....

I’ve always changed them at the same time, typically get the new LTC before the DL when doing so.

Re: Defender Outdoor Claysports Ranch

Guess they missed the railroad tracks that run right through that area when they bought? That's always the risk of buying on the outskirts and/or near undeveloped areas. You may not like your neighbors if/when the land gets developed. I'm all for more Sporting Clays courses. I enjoy Trap and Skeet, ...

https://www.impactguns.com/data/default/images/catalog/535/764503913495.jpg Yeah, I'm being lazy and didn't want to go look at mine. That's a pretty small pin. I don't see it having that much leverage or there being enough strength when reholstered to pull the trigger enough to discharge. Plus, how...

Re: Purchased a gun for a friend

That is the correct way to handle it. The ATF can consider you buying a gun for someone else, even though they are qualified, as a "straw purchase". Realistically, they probably won't, but you should not risk it. When you fill out the 4473 you are signing that you are buying the gun for yourself. A...

Re: Purchased a gun for a friend

First, do not pay for it under your name. Second, Contact the seller and provide the name of the real buyer. Explain what happened. Seller will send the pistol to FFL of the real buyer Let your friend do the paper work and pick the pistol from his FFL. In Short do not do the transaction yourself. Y...

Re: Luminaries on trigger control

For anyone who’s never heard of him, Bruce Gray might be one of the most insightful folks you’ll find on the topic of trigger control. From his passion for dry firing, to his belief in “pressing” the trigger, to his insistence on practicing the bump drill he’s very knowledgeable on the topic. If you...

Re: Johnson City

I’m with Puma Guy, Fredericksburg has much more to offer in the way of food and accommodations. Plus it’s an easy drive between the two. The Holiday Inn Express is relatively new and well kept. If you’re without kids the Hanger Hotel out at the airport is a great vintage experience. As for food the ...

Re: First full day of carrying

I'm not sure if it's "purpose built" but I bought a 5.11 "operator" belt. It's 1.75in wide and stiffer than.... Well it's pretty damn sturdy. I wore it just regular for a week before my license got here, and it has held up pretty good so far with my single clip holster, should do even better with m...

Re: Is the HK P30 as robust as the USP?

While I’ve never owned a USP, I’ve shot them extensively, my best friend has a 9 and a 45 that he uses as his suppressor hosts. That said he (and I) both carry P30s (or P30sks) daily. I have a full size in both 9 and 40. While the USPs are definitely robust, it’s partly because they have the ergonom...

Re: First full day of carrying

Congrats. As you note a slight print may seems blatantly obvious to you, but 99.9% of folks will never notice. As for the new clothes comment, have you gotten yourself a good purpose built gun belt? That makes all the difference in the world. Before you know it it’ll be a part of your daily routine ...

Re: Are there plans for Forum members to meet up at the NRA meeting Friday?

Spent the whole day today (0930-1700) at the show with a buddy, ran into SIA, Flightmare and others a few times. Had a blast, really enjoyed the B&T booth, met Mike Pappas (basically the father of a lot of modern day suppressors), and had Rob Leatham sit down at our table at lunch to grab a bite wit...
