Re: DFW West/Southwest Quadrant Breakfast

Poor poor Bitter Clinger. Much prettier part of WY than the area we lived in up there.

As much as I thought I'd make this month's meeting, I'm going to be a no-show. Daughter's 2nd birthday party was scheduled for Saturday. As a much as I like you guys these little girl's have daddy's heart.

Re: Thoughts using laser as bedside gun

I realize it's different strokes for different folks, but for me, a HD pistol needs to have a WML. Reason being is that with three little ones in the house, I will very likely be having to manipulate phones/doors/children with one hand, leaving me with only one hand free. Same reason I choose a pist...

Re: Stolen Airplane... shut down, not crashed.

My reaction if they did actually shoot him down (I haven’t seen enough evidence thus far to prove it), “so what”? All the elements were there to justify the shoot down and I have no problem with it. This isn’t like a suicidal person on a bridge that you try to talk down. This is a person in a commer...

Re: Just got my tax stamp!!

Nice! What are the future plans for it beyond short barrel?

The trick with the NFA game is to always have a stamp or two in the process. That way it’s like Christmas every couple months. And we all know that Christmas kills your bank account. "rlol"

Re: Active shooter has been reported at the La Plaza Mall in McAllen

^Do we know for a fact they’re UC or off-duty that follow the uniformed LEO? I almost wonder if orange shirt isn’t an LTC given the unsure nature he portrays in trying the clear around the corner of that wall. Not that I’d do much better, but understanding the concept of “slicing the pie” sure helps...

Re: Gun range accidental shooting

Police said an employee accidentally shot another employee in the upper-torso area during a training session. Whatever that training session was turned into a major failure. No joke. Strangely enough we’re on vacation this week and drove by this range yesterday afternoon; from the outside it looks ...

Re: DFW West/Southwest Quadrant Breakfast

Sorry to have missed another one, but this summer has been busy. Looking forward to this fall for a number of reasons, not the least of which is cooler weather, but also because I should have more availability to make these more regularly again. Good for you SIA. In all the times meeting there I’ve ...

Re: NRA and the Russian honey pot

I'm not buying it. So far, everything I've seen seems to indicate it's just another attempt from the left to link Russia with some sort of meddling.

Trump = Bad
Guns/NRA = Bad
Russia = Bad

It has all the calling cards of the latest MSM hype to try to drive the public into an induced frenzy.

Re: CZ Scorpion Pistol to SBR

Also, even if you put a 3-lug mount on both weapons, you still have to remove the piston and substitute a fixed barrel spacer anyway to go from a pistol to a carbine. So unless I’m missing something, I don’t see an advantage there. But I can see how it would make switching from pistol to pistol, or...

Re: CZ Scorpion Pistol to SBR

Edited to add...... is there any other reason than convenience for using a locking lug type of mount for a suppressor? I have an Obsidian pistol suppressor, and it is direct thread mounted. Are the lug type mounts as secure in terms of keeping the can concentric to the bore? I'll echo what Scott sa...

^^^Nice. I know you said you’re not the biggest fan of the color, but I kind of like it. As you noted doing a light coat of a brown or something over top might not look too bad either. Here’s my completed Scorpion SBR sporting the HBIndusties Micro K handguard and barrel profile. https://s5.postimg....

Re: Defender Outdoor Claysports Ranch

Guess they missed the railroad tracks that run right through that area when they bought? That's always the risk of buying on the outskirts and/or near undeveloped areas. You may not like your neighbors if/when the land gets developed. I'm all for more Sporting Clays courses. I enjoy Trap and Skeet, ...

https://www.impactguns.com/data/default/images/catalog/535/764503913495.jpg Yeah, I'm being lazy and didn't want to go look at mine. That's a pretty small pin. I don't see it having that much leverage or there being enough strength when reholstered to pull the trigger enough to discharge. Plus, how...
