Re: FL: Homeowner with AR15 kills 2, in armed home invasion.

Thanks, CM!
I have a Streamlight Pro-Tac that I carry around with me in my pocket.
I live out in the country and it is especially useful at night! The last thing I want to do is step on a diamondback rattlesnake going from my house to my car!

Re: FL: Homeowner with AR15 kills 2, in armed home invasion.

Yesterday I bought a Streamlight TLR-1 for my AR15---should get it next week.
It is an Amazon best-seller and was recommended in the "best list" of tactical lights for the AR15 at one gun site.
Anybody have one and what do they think of it? Are there better lights out there?
Thanks much!

Re: LAw regarding armed robbery - what does "imminent" mean?

Many of these close questions of fact are ultimately jury questions for a jury to decide. There are cases of a robber taking your wallet by force then he takes a few steps away and shoots you. As rotor pointed out robbers are unpredictable. Distance is certainly a factor. If the robber is 500 yards ...

Re: The Much-Maligned, Under-powered 30 U.S. Carbine

I read somewhere that Garand men in WW2 derisively referred to the 30 carbine as a "supply clerk's gun."
Regardless, I would love to have one too!

Re: NH: Pick up truck driver charged with negligent homicide in deaths of 7 motorcyclists

I drive even more carefully when I am pulling a trailer. Occasionally the wife and I go camping and haul our Casita travel-trailer behind. Even with sway-bars, cross-chains, tongue locks, etc. it still makes me nervous to drive down the highway. Many years back a friend was in his pickup waiting to ...

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray

I am speculating that the Houston City Attorney's Office advised Art to clam up and lawyer up in light of potential civil and criminal lawsuits--hence the lack of cooperation from him despite his earlier promises to be transparent. Sad.

Re: NRA Threads and Bogus Attacks

I hope this litigation gets resolved quickly--certainly far enough in front of the 2020 elections so as not to distract. However, this type of litigation can take quite awhile to resolve what with introductory discovery, depositions, motions for partial and full summary judgment, and on and on. We c...

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray

I thought Acevedo promised transparency in all of this--guess my bad. Looks to me like he is circling the wagons and preparing for a long defense as even the District Attorney has to ask for key records.
Sad.

I am guessing a "pump and dump" corporate job.
Now, if they get rid of the green chili double burger and substitute a soy and tofu burger then I will know the end is near.

Hearing Protection?....Oops.

This morning got up early and set up some steel targets. Checked for safety glasses---on. Fired the first round from my Smith and Wesson M&P Shield. BLAM!!! Darn that was loud! Oops...ear muffs over in the backpack. A senior moment I guess. Had never forgotten ear protection before. Anyway, learned ...

Wheres it’s head?
The head is out in the back yard somewhere. I looked for it and could not find it as I like to bury those heads so they cannot do any damage. I assume the raccoons will get it tonight along with the rest of the snake.

Watch Where You Walk

Found this sleeping between the bird bath and the statuary in the back yard. About 3 feet long with five to six rattles. My granny always said watch where you walk so I do. I placed the rattler by the garden hoe for length comparison purposes only. Dispatched this rattler with my Smith and Wesson Go...

Re: Man Killed Testing ’21-Foot Rule’

Reminds me of the now-fired cop in Florida who fired a full cylinder into a poor retired librarian who volunteered to play a part in a hostage scenario. Criminal charges were filed against that cop. Last I knew the case was still pending. Oh, he thought it was "unloaded" or he was using "blanks." St...
