No, it was in reference to a now non member.
:)

I remember that guy, even had him blocked so I didn't see his posts, before he got the boot.

I don't post here too often so I wasn't sure if G26ster's comment was directed toward me or not.

Re: Government shutdown

Most of the military are getting paid. That is, the branches that fall under DOD. They were funded prior to this shutdown happening.

The Coast Guard is not getting paid at all, since they are not part of DOD. They fall under DHS.

Re: ANTHONY KENNEDY IS RETIRING!

With the elections going on, this flew under the radar. Doubt the media will report on this much: https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/press/rep/releases/senate-judiciary-committee-releases-summary-of-investigation-from-supreme-court-confirmation “The revelation of last minute allegations tested the com...

That does look like PVC. No threads, the caps have rounded ends, and it’s radio-transparent (can see through it with x-rays).

Steel is radio-opaque.

Re: Army chooses Sig

Not sure how the 320 compares to the Sig 229. The Coast Guard switched to the Sig P229R-DAK about 12 years ago, chambered in .40 S&W. I personally don't care for the 229, a bit more snappy compared to the M9 Beretta.

That's funny!

I'm hoping to see Brady vs. Rogers for the Super Bowl this year. Though I would have liked to have seen that two years ago, but the Seahawks beat the Packers for the NFC and ultimately the Pats won it all.

Go Pats!

Re: Which Conceal Carry .45 ACP?

I don't have the XD Mod 2, but I do carry its predecessor, a 4" Compact XD45. The compact just had the grip 3/4 inch shorter, so it will take either a 10 round mag, or the standard capacity 13 round mag. I carry mine in a Triple T, IWB holster. Very comfy and I've had little problems carrying it. I ...

Re: I can't be the only one..

Full size XD-45. Lives in a Triple T IWB holster on an actual gun belt (forgot what brand of belt).

That sits at about 4 o clock, with a spare mag on my left side.

Re: Bass Pro buying Cabela's

The League City Cabelas was a bit disappointing when I first went to it. Looks large from the outside, but doesn't have a huge amount to offer on the inside. It's not what I expected when I walked in, having been to a couple other Cabelas in the past (full size ones) and Bass Pro. Puma Guy, I saw th...

Re: First days of carry....not very comfortable

This is one case where a cheap Uncle Mikes holster saves the day for me. I IWB (made by Triple T) as well, at about 4:30. On short trips, it is a minor discomfort. On long trips, it sucks. On the longer trips I'll remove my gun from the IWB holster, and put it in the Uncle Mikes holster, which then ...

Re: Ever seen an oil tanker launched from below? Duck!

I've been underneath my last ship for sonar transducer inspection when it was drydocked. Granted, it was nowhere near as large as a tanker, only 225 ft long and 2,000 tons. But I will say that I didn't particularly like the experience knowing that I was standing under 4 million pounds of steel. Only...

Re: Note to .45 1911 Owners

I did the math on this. .45 ACP = 11.43 mm, which is a 21% increase in diameter. Overall length is also 9% longer for the 45 as well (29.69 mm length for 9mm and 32.4mm length for a 45).

I'm still amazed that a 9mm can be fired out of anything chambered for 45.
