Re: AMMO. Buying, selling or nothing

Ammo seems pretty scarce, that's for sure. My son and I built my first AR earlier this year, and I was not able to find 5.56/.223 at all locally (Cabela's, Academy). I did get lucky and was able to buy a case of 55gr M193 IMI from Midway for a reasonable price (44¢/rd), and was pleasantly surprised ...

Re: Getting started

Thank ya'll for the advice :tiphat: My main goal with reloading is a reduced cost of rounds (which I know may be a wash as I may want to go shooting more often), and a degree of self sufficiency and being able to get through an ammo shortage. Not looking to do match grade loads or competition shooti...

Getting started

Greetings all, Reloading is something that has always piqued my interest, not to mention somewhat cheaper than buying factory ammo. Also being able to get through a shortage (like we have now) if one has sufficient supplies. For now I only plan on loading 5.56, .45 ACP, and 9mm. I have a book on ord...

Re: Drones

What would a focused beam of microwave energy do to a drone? Depends. Microwave has a very short wavelength, and power diminishes quickly with distance (inverse square law) like any radio wave. You would need a powerful transmitter, a very tightly focused beam, and a way to aim it. What it would do...

Re: anything up with email notifications ?

I am not getting any notifications either. I haven't been active here in a while, and had also forgot my password. Both the Forgot my Password tool, and the contact an Admin didn't do anything at all for me. I tried the password link multiple times, and the contact an admin twice with no success or ...

No, it was in reference to a now non member.
:)

I remember that guy, even had him blocked so I didn't see his posts, before he got the boot.

I don't post here too often so I wasn't sure if G26ster's comment was directed toward me or not.

Re: Government shutdown

Most of the military are getting paid. That is, the branches that fall under DOD. They were funded prior to this shutdown happening.

The Coast Guard is not getting paid at all, since they are not part of DOD. They fall under DHS.

Re: ANTHONY KENNEDY IS RETIRING!

With the elections going on, this flew under the radar. Doubt the media will report on this much: https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/press/rep/releases/senate-judiciary-committee-releases-summary-of-investigation-from-supreme-court-confirmation “The revelation of last minute allegations tested the com...

That does look like PVC. No threads, the caps have rounded ends, and it’s radio-transparent (can see through it with x-rays).

Steel is radio-opaque.

Re: Army chooses Sig

Not sure how the 320 compares to the Sig 229. The Coast Guard switched to the Sig P229R-DAK about 12 years ago, chambered in .40 S&W. I personally don't care for the 229, a bit more snappy compared to the M9 Beretta.

Re: Amazon's Alexa's Opinion of the Houston Texans

That's funny!

I'm hoping to see Brady vs. Rogers for the Super Bowl this year. Though I would have liked to have seen that two years ago, but the Seahawks beat the Packers for the NFC and ultimately the Pats won it all.

Go Pats!
