Re: DIY mailboxes vs. thieves

Check local ordinances - my Uncle and his neighbors had the baseball bat bashing problem in Indiana. One neighbor got fed up and reinstalled with an I-beam concreted in the ground. The teens wrecked their car on it, and successfully sued for damages, because the installation was deemed illegal by l...

Re: "The Untold History of the USA"

While I don't always agree with Oliver Stone, I do respect the guy as a combat vet: In April 1967, Stone enlisted in the United States Army and requested combat duty in Vietnam. From September 16, 1967 to April 1968, he served in Vietnam with 2nd Platoon, B Company, 3rd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Reg...

Re: "The Untold History of the USA"

The above Netflix, multi-part Oliver Stone series, " The Untold History of the USA " is very interesting indeed. Of course, if you're not interested in American/World history and/or not of an age to have lived through many of these historic events, it would be lost on you. Anything Oliver Stone pro...

M 2 would be very sweet. I have a buddy who has taken quite a few deer at suprising long ranges ( I think). He is really in tune with his M 1 ballistics.

I would only use the Thunderbolt ammo in a bolt or pump action. It has been unreliable in a variety of semis for me.

Re: Residential Security Door Suggestions?

I used 3” screws with steel sleeves around them. Otherwise, I could take a sawsall and cut thru those Drew’s in very short order.

Re: Residential Security Door Suggestions?

Buy front doors that open outward, this prevents them being kicked in. Also use non removal hinge pins so the pins can’t be pulled from the outside unless the door is open. Use long screws to secure the door. You can get hinge pins which have a set screw on the inside. One of the simplistic ideas i...

Re: NM: Walmart to stop selling guns in New Mexico

WalMart has been fairly worthless at gun sells for a long time. The counter people are fairly inept if you are lucky enough to find one. They have not carried ARs for a while.

Re: Extra room in the gun safe?

About 4 to 5 dollars a round. That would make for a very expensive trip to the range. Back in the early 80s my gun club would hold a full auto day about every two months ( got to fire a lot of WWII vintage full autos). We had a member with a .50 cal MG mounted in the back of a Toyota PU. I asked hi...

Re: New to Concealed Carry, have a few questions

You can also purchase a SA/DA pistol which you could carry in DA mode ( thumb safety would be optional). Trigger pull for DA mode increases dramatically ( mine goes from 4 to 11 lbs). I believe this is how the LA Police Dept. use to carry their Beretta 92s. This is my preferred method of carrying. ...
