Re: Looks like we will be getting universal background checks, no gun list etc.

How many of you have responded to the urgent NRA call-to-action? Chas. I think Cruz, Cornyn and Burgess are pretty solid, Corynyn is solid for more gun control, an is working with Feinstein to make it happen. Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., are seekin...

Re: Gun Laws: What Should We Get In Return

Forgive me for no having read every other thread, and every other argument...but can you show me where forum members are in favor of more gun control? See post above, quoted below. Background checks are fine. Make it a requirement that a private seller either sees a LTC / CWP / CHL / whatever that ...

Re: Gun Laws: What Should We Get In Return

We do not need any more laws. Murder is already a crime. The basic tenet of gun control is that everyone will obey the laws which is a fallacy. No more laws. No more restrictions. I will give up nothing else. I am responsible for my security. Yes but that is not today's reality. Today's reality is ...

Gun Laws: What Should We Get In Return

Off shoot from other threads. I see a lot of folks on this forum OK with more gun control. Are we OK with more gun freedom? How about instead of spending so much time talking about what gun control we are OK with, we talk about what gun freedom we are OK with! Here is a compromise that directly bene...

Re: Trump Supports Gun Ban for Fly/Terror List

One of the problems I see in this and other threads, if someone isn't 100% in lockstep with what is considered conservative, libertarian or pro-2nd "correct" thinking, people conclude that person is a left-wing nut planted to perpetuate a grand conspiracy to infiltrate the "correct&q...

Re: Trump Supports Gun Ban for Fly/Terror List

I say we just go to a complete ban on guns turn them in and stop this death by a thousands cuts.

I am going to join the pro-choice movement. At least they have the backbone to never give in.

Re: Looks like we will be getting universal background checks, no gun list etc.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/sen-murphy-gun-vote-14-hour-filibuster-article-1.2675727 It looks like we might be having to put up with a non guns list and a universal background check bill! I'm not following some stupid universal background check law! How is that working up in WA? http:/...

Re: Give A Revolver As A Gift To Daughter

Sure sounds like a straw purchase if you do it the way you've described. I don't know what would happen if, on the 4473 form, you selected that the gun was not for you or a gift. I don't know if it would be cleared for you to still make the purchase or not. However, even it is was there's still all...

Re: Give A Revolver As A Gift To Daughter

I would like to buy a 38 special revolver and gift it to my daughter. I will be the buyer. I will provide the money. It will not be a straw purchase. I have a Texas CHL and my daughter meets all the requirements needed to own a gun. The problem is ....my adult daughter lives in Illinois and will dr...

Re: Sawed Off Shotgun

Here's a question: For a sawed off to be legal, I understand the barrel must be at least 18" long. No shorter. And then 26 inches overall from end to end. Does this mean we can also cut back the stock, as long as the overall length is 26", with a barrel length of 18"? Incorrect under...

Re: Still won't vote for Trump?

Of all these issues, why is the right to keep and bear arms the most important? I'm not criticizing that choice at all, I'm just wanting a different perspective on it. Because I really like guns. I shoot almost every day. If I was a promiscuous female abortion would probably be my single issue.

Re: President calls for reinstatement of assault weapons ban

On the "no fly" list, why are we not talking about taking away people's right to access the internet or use mobile communication devices if they are on the list? Those activities are much more dangerous than the ability to buy a gun. Just to be clear, you're proposing that once you're add...

No LE investigations are generally confidential so nobody would know.
