Re: Oklahoma Constitutional Carry

On the other hand, a Texan who is carrying under vehicle carry and drives into OK may not know that they can put the gun in a holster and carry it on their person. But then again, if they don't know that OK has CC and they don't have an LTC, they might not own a holster in the first place. Worst ca...

I have not camped on the beach since then, but I have wondered how to keep sand out of a pistol while keeping it fully functional.
Hmmm, I'd say the answer is "buy a Glock". Was this a trick question?

Re: 1911 Bug bites again. Which one?

I voted for the CCU but would also recommend looking at Dan Wesson's. There are a few in the same price range as the CCU. I'd second this. To be fair I have limited experience with Colts having owned only a Colt Defender that was perfectly adequate, and a WW1 era gun that I've never actually shot. ...

Re: Special Election Today

My biggest issue is not with people who decide not to vote, but rather with those folks who feel the need to vote for every race and every measure whether they know anything about it or not. For example, if you don't even know the basic responsibilities of a position, or anything about the people ru...

Re: Oklahoma Constitutional Carry

I don't forsee any problems. Oklahoma residents could always carry in their vehicles while in Texas (assuming they aren't felons, etc). So an Oklahoman who drives across the border won't have an issue unless he / she steps out of their vehicle with a gun. The odds of someone from Oklahoma doing that...

Re: Random Question

Apparently my county is planning to construct a road in a city next to the one I live in, and they need to obtain right of ways from various property owners. I know this because I got a letter in the mail telling me that they were exercising imminent domain and would be paying me fair market value ...

it occurs to me that they were possibly living in Mexico because 1. it's cheaper and 2. poligamy is illegal here, don't know about there, but if it is, it probably isn't enforced. What I do know is what happened was horrid and the people who did it deserve a paricularly hot spot further south Unles...

Re: It's Halloween - How many will be armed

I'll untuck my shirt to cover my OWB holster and gun. And the dog will be closed up in the bedroom. Other than that, it will be like every other night of the year.

3:00 to 3:30, almost always OWB, usually with a 1911 CCO. I rarely carry spare mags, but if I do they are in a jacket or pants pocket. I'm more likely to carry a spare gun than spare mags, that is usually a J frame revolver in my left pants pocket.

Re: No place but Saudi Arabia

Personally, I have never understood the desire to police the behavior of other countries' governments regarding their own citizens. I'm sure that some of our laws offend the sensibilities of any number of folks in other countries, but I don't really care to hear them tell us how we should run things...

Re: Reasons to get a 1911 and which one?

I have had a lot of reliability issues with 1911s, plain ones and fancy ones. Those words have been uttered about every gun ever made, by one man or another. I've seen glocks and M&P's fail, even a couple of sig's and XD's. If you "have had a lot of reliability issues" with multiple 1911's, you are...

Re: Hood County 2nd Amendment Resolution

The difference here is that Hood and the other counties are "sanctuaries" for law abiding citizens of this country (the Constitution trumps all other laws), while other "sanctuary" cities / counties are sanctuaries for criminals who are not citizens of this country.

Re: Oops! At the range.

I can attest to the ammo mix-ups. I've loaded and fired .380's through a 9mm once. This is the reason why I try to never bring a .380 or a .40 on a range trip where I am also shooting a 9mm gun.
