Re: suppressor

At the risk of going a bit off topic, are you concerned that the suppressor might negatively effect (affect?) the reliability of your G44? I'm really interested in getting that gun, but I'm a bit gun shy after experiencing reliability issues with other .22lr semi-autos.

Re: TX: Dallas LTC holder fends off robbers at home cookout

Ironically enough, my wife just gave me grief for carrying during a barbeque at my house. My daughter is headed back to college today, so I decided to smoke a brisket for her on Sunday. My wife took a picture of me carving up the meat, and posted it to Facebook, where she immediately got comments be...

Re: Article: Not a Gun violence problem

No such thing as gun violence ... wish we would quit feeding the enemy with terms for sound bytes. Yep, that's the point he is making. Right. And my point is we use the term here in post titles and comments. "Gun V-" is the N-word of the pro-gun community. :iagree: People don't talk about "Vehicle ...

If we don't do something about the climate, then sooner or later we'll all be dead!

Of course, if we do do something about the climate, then sooner or later we will all be dead anyway, lol.

Re: TX: Crosby gunshop owner 1 burglars 0

Moral of the story: next time you want to rob someone, choose your target in a "victim zone" (aka "gun-free libtard zone"). Seriously. I realize that most criminals are stupid, but how dumb do you have to be to pass on all the places that are advertising their desire to be robbed with big 30.06 sig...

Re: Looking for a new safe

Is it a room under the stairs, by chance? I have one of those, and decided to just reinforce that little room, with a solid core door, some deadbolts and a folding security gate as soon as you open the door. Of course, that may not be an option if they don't even want you bolting a safe to the floor...

Re: Rossi 12 gauge shotgun pistol.

I have found my recoil limit and it is firing a .357 round from an 11 ounce, scandium framed, revolver. That's the most recoil I want to ever subject myself to. And this weapon appears to be well beyond that limit.

Re: New "Enhanced CHL" in Tennessee 2020

So it sounds like this boils down to a requirement for additional training if someone wants to open carry? As long as the training is relevant on topics such as weapon retention, etc., that might make some sense. In a sense, Texas already has a 2 tier system. No license is required to carry a gun he...

Re: Jury duty today- Texas CHL Forum blocked

It is interesting the differences in response between this post and the Walmart blocking this site I posted a day ago. Has public WiFi become that much worse for your phone in 4 years. I think the difference is that Wal Mart is blocking something on THEIR Wifi, and in this case the government is bl...

Re: Jury duty today- Texas CHL Forum blocked

Moral of the story - avoid jury duty? *Edit* Don't they issue warrants if you "avoid" it? :smash: During voir dire just tell them you know he/she is guilty (just look at his/her eyes) and should get the death penalty. :evil2: Tried that once in a juvenile misdemeanor trial. Judge laughed and said, ...

Re: Loaded magazine went for a wash!

I would shoot them, just to better understand the limits of that particular ammo (since it was in a mag in your pocket, I'm assuming this is carry ammo). For my carry guns, I like to at least once shoot them, without cleaning, to the point where I experience failures. This is kind of the same idea. ...

Re: Houston Man playing with gun shoots himself

“At some point, he racked the gun, not realizing he had placed a round in the chamber, according to police. He removed the magazine, put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger, shooting himself.” I’m torn between just thinking “stupid hurts”, and thinking what a shame it is that no one taught t...

Attorney Andrew Branca discusses this incident: https://lawofselfdefense.com/blog/ ... Law of Self Defense Post of the Day, which involves the use of booby traps in defense of property ... Paywalled after 3 days. Yes, not allowed by law. Does not distinguish between a burglar and a fireman. Deadly ...

Re: ME: Man shot and killed by his own front door booby trap

Legal or not, I would never set these up for precisely this reason. I have an alarm on the door to the room where I keep my gun safes that is separate from my home alarm system (maybe I am paranoid?), and I can't count the number of times I have set that alarm off because I forgot to disarm it.
