Re: IDPA options in the Houston area
Well that explains it. Sorry to hear about his passing. I only met him once, very briefly, but he seemed like a really good guy.Paladin wrote: Wed May 01, 2024 8:50 am Phil Oxley died, so its hard to say when/if the range will re-open.
PSC is in the south
I'll research some more on PSC.

IDPA options in the Houston area
I want to get back into IDPA. I used to shoot at West Houston IDPA, but I just went on their website and couldn't find any upcoming matches. Does anyone know if they are still running, and if not, what other decent options are available in the Houston area (preferably west Houston / Katy)?

Re: White House blames drugs on Construction Workers.
For the first time in our history, cocaine has been found in the white house.
For the first time in our history, a regular visitor to the white house (and the son of the President) is a known cocaine addict.
Yeah, I'm sure this is just a coincidence.

Re: Recommendation for indoor shooting near Sugar Land?
Have a friend that lives in Sugar Land. He's buying two pistols from me (one for him, one for wife). He wants to get proper training and LTC for them. I don't live in the Houston area, so don't really have a recommendation, although I've heard some decent things about Full Armor near Katy (a ...

Re: Sign Changes - why?
If I'm correct and the TABC signs are being used to force submission by the unknowing public, the TABC SHOULD care. Any time a government agency's name and power are used, it should be done accurately. I see no difference between the scam phone calls that I get with people who claim to be police ...

Re: Montana firearms store raided by multiple Federal agencies
I'm very curious to know why the search warrant apparently included 4473 forms in the items to be seized. Absent credible evidence that someone like Hunter Biden had lied on a form when doing an FFL transfer / buying a gun, I can't think of any legitimate investigative purpose for the government to ...

Revolver - smallish size, say a Ruger SP101, 3 inch barrel, or similar. Chambered in .357
Bolt action rifle - .308 or 30-06 with a good scope
MSR - I'd go with a SCAR 17 personally if I had to only have one
Handgun. I'd be VERY torn on the exact one, but probably a Staccato-C

Maximum delay between class and application
My wife completed her LTC class a while back. Unfortunately we have had some issues come up recently and have not gotten around to actually starting her application.
How long is the class good for before she would need to retake it?

Re: SB 1515 is just wrong
I can't believe anyone would support having the government tell us what religion we should be posting. This a clear violation of the 1st Amendment.
:iagree:
I could probably get behind allowing schools to post religious information (of all types), but requiring public schools to post the ...

Re: "Felony" sign
My opinion is that my handgun is not on their property, it is on (in) my property. That's what I was taught, what I teach, and I've seen nothing that changes that.
The 30.06/07 signs only apply to LTC "CARRYING UNDER THE AUTHORITY" of their LTC. If you are in your car, even before ...

Re: TX: Truck with Air Tag stolen. Victim kills thief when he draws his gun.
If the criminal had a gun, then the victim should be OK. If the criminal had something that "looked like" a gun, that's another story.
But even if legally OK, the victim would have been better off just having a stolen truck, IMHO.

Academy asking unnecessary questions
I was killing some time yesterday in the gun section of a local Academy and overheard the manager talking to a guy who was buying a gun. In addition to reviewing the paperwork he verbally asked the guy two questions:
“Do you have a way to securely store this firearm in your home”?
“What will you ...

Re: Bump stock ruling vacated, to be reheard
If I'm in possession of something that is legal and then suddenly the ATF says it's not that means nothing to me. You don't just change the rules and expect people to comply.
:iagree:
The ATF does not get to decide what is or is not legal. They can simply give their opinion of whether they ...
