Re: Seattle is Dying

I went to Seattle to interview at Amazon Web Services last August and even the touristy area near Pike Place Market felt very unsafe. Pretty much stayed in my hotel room the rest of the time. That area is extremely unsafe, and has been for years. When I was living there 15 years ago, or so, a guy w...

Re: Not her body? Still her choice!

Framing this as an abortion issue is not only inaccurate, but also a mistake, IMHO. "A newborn that survives an abortion" is a human being. And just like every other human being, they are endowed by their creator with the right to life, among other things. This has nothing to do with abortion. It's ...

Re: Benchmade responds

At first they came for bump stocks, and I did not stand up to them because I did not own a bump stock.....

Count me in the "not one inch" camp. The same camp that the NRA used to be in, by the way.

Re: Do you ever open carry?

I OC when I leave my office for lunch, or if I need to exit the vehicle while going to or from my house. Reason being that I usually wear a tucked in dress shirt at work. Today I am wearing a sweater, so I'll CC when I pump gas on the drive home, I guess. On the weekends, I'm usually wearing a T-shi...

Legal TABC blue sign, legal 30.06 sign, and illegal 30.07 notice. Also when the doors are open and it is concealed through 'double' tinted glass I doubt it would be noticeable. Considering its only a class C misdemeanor and disputing the charge in court would entail taking a picture of the doors (w...

Re: The Kavanaughing of Neomi Rao - Trump Judge nominee

I read about this earlier today, but I think it was at AmericanThinker.com. Anyway, the article made the point that asking these people about their religious beliefs (“Ms Rao, do you believe that gay marriage is a sin?”) is actually a violation of their powers under Article VI of the Constitution. ...

Re: HB 1376 - Documentation of and limitations on Private Firearms sales

They are different bills, just filed sequentially by the same author. Yes, they are both terrible as the essentially create gun registration for law abiding citizens. Gun registration is enough reason to oppose these bills. But this one also makes it impossible for many law abiding gun owners to se...

I'm trying to figure out why you would ever want to have a limit in the first place, and am drawing a blank.

Re: HB 1376 - Documentation of and limitations on Private Firearms sales

OK this is even worse than the other post about this bill (assuming its the same bill). It also would require a loosening of FFL requirements. My HOA does not allow me to have a home based business. My understanding is that this would make it impossible for me to get a FFL license. So there would be...

Re: HB 1166 - Fines for Signs Modifications

How about we get rid of "fines for signs" entirely and just make it clear that anyone who wrongly restricts a license holder from carrying on government owned property will receive no immunity for their actions. Retraining said license holder would make the offender guilty of assault, and/or false i...

Re: HB 1123 - First Responder Deisgnation on LTC

In a word - NO! How about we eliminate off limit areas for LTC instead. No special class of people getting anything different than all citizens. :iagree: If a private property owner doesn't want anyone to enter unless specifically invited, they can post a big "No Trespassing" sign. If they want peo...

Re: TX: Physical altercation preceded deadly shooting of coach in Cedar Park

It's interesting that the shooter has already been charged with murder. That was a quick investigation considering that the shooter has lawyered up and presumably did not make any incriminating statements. The fact that the shooting happened on the shooters property would seem to indicate that he wa...

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray

My wife works as a consultant for schools, and she just so happened to be working at an elementary school that is a couple blocks from this house (she tends to work with the lowest performing schools, which tend to also be in pretty bad neighborhoods). Fortunately, the raid occurred after schools ha...

Re: HB 1123 - First Responder Deisgnation on LTC

I'd support this if anyone who completes the stated training is eligible. There is no reason to limit this just to those employed as first responders. Their employers should also get the same rights.
