Re: ND at the gun club today during monthly pistol match

Am I the only one surprised that anyone is still shooting pistol matches given the current price of ammo (that you can actually get)? If you are not lucky enough to find it in stock at a retailer, then the going price seems to be over 50 cents per round for basic 9mm FMJ ammo. When I shoot IDPA matc...

Re: Strong side carry results in opposite side soreness

I used to experience similar issues when I carried IWB. Switching to OWB and using lighter weight carry guns helped alot (aluminum framed 1911 vs steel, etc). I also started using a "snap" holster that is easy to take on and off. This helps with the driving situation and also was a huge help when I ...

https://unitedwildlifeunion.com/2020/08/01/why-white-people-owning-dogs-is-racist/ It is cultural appropriation for a European to own a dog. If I'm following his non-logical "logic" then anyone who cannot trace their ancestry to either Eastern or Western Eurasia is racist if they own a dog, because...

Re: Duty to Provide LTC on Voluntary Identification to LEO?

Crud, more drama but it is all on the civil side. Another interaction with the same deputy last night, when I saw him I handed my DL and LTC to him without being asked. We both had a short chuckle. Drama from last night has subsided, still all on the civil side, son saw a lawyer today and is feelin...

Re: How the 2020 election could go wrong - Dems play wargames

I get the West Coast secession scenario, but why would there then be a civil war? Let them go. Liberals from other major cities could move to the new "Peoples Socialist Republik of Kalifornia" so they wouldn't even need a patchwork of territory scattered about.

Re: BYRNA non lethal handgun

If I was to get this, I would definitely not get one in black. It looks too much like a handgun. I think the yellow one would be a better choice. I never want my non-lethal options to look like an actual gun.

Re: Duty to Provide LTC on Voluntary Identification to LEO?

Because I carry every time I go out of my house I volunteer my LTC whenever I'm asked for ID. Every time the officer says it's not needed. As a practical matter, I do the same, and have the same result. That also covers me in case I happen to forget that I left my range bag in the back of my SUV, e...

Re: BYRNA non lethal handgun

It's definitely interesting, and might be a decent tool to add to the arsenal, along with an actual handgun. It might also be a "better than nothing" option if you need to venture into a no gun zone for some reason. I definitely like the range (60 feet), and think this gives it an advantage over sta...

Re: Duty to Provide LTC on Voluntary Identification to LEO?

"Look at the recent jogger incident in San Antonio. In the long run, I am not sure i would say the jogger won. He was arrested and spent at least one night in jail. Yes, the case was dismissed by the DA refusing the charges. But he still spent time in jail and will have an arrest record (unless he ...

Re: Duty to Provide LTC on Voluntary Identification to LEO?

Something I have wondered about but never had happen to me until tonight, note I was NOT carrying: I was acting as an intermediary on a return of property for my son's his future ex to return property and cash. She asked that I meet her at a neutral location for her to transfer said items to me. as...

Re: Everytown Files Lawsuit Over Texas 30.06/30.07 signs for being "burdensome"

Well, there is a simple solution to make the entire suit moot: Make it such that no variant of any “no guns” sign has the force of law. Call it the “Florida technique”, or the “Georgia provision”, or the “most-places-in-Montana-except-that-liberal-infested-pit-named-Missoula” accord. :iagree: Or we...

Re: Everytown Files Lawsuit Over Texas 30.06/30.07 signs for being "burdensome"

There are many untrue statements in this lawsuit. To cite just one example, it is not true that a business must post signage to avail themselves of Texas' Criminal Trespass statutes. They can call the police and have anyone removed, for almost any reason, AFTER telling that person to leave (and assu...

Re: How liberals think bullets are stopped

Let's put aside the fact that a finger won't stop a bullet. Even if it did, this would still be a stupid idea. They're going to hire 1,000,000 people who will each go and locate a gun that owned by someone. They will then break into that person's car / house so they can put their finger in the muzzl...

The folks shot were all criminals who had been convicted of violent crimes. They were also in the process of committing other violent crimes when they were shot With the exception of no knock warrants, the same can be said about the very people whose lives the rioters are using for anarchy. :iagree...
