Re: TX:Judge orders man to pay 96k in divorce settlement even though she was married to two other men

It's difficult to understand the outcome, especially given this provision of the Texas Family Code: Sec. 6.202. MARRIAGE DURING EXISTENCE OF PRIOR MARRIAGE. (a) A marriage is void if entered into when either party has an existing marriage to another person that has not been dissolved by legal action...

My Walther P22 does not feed reliably. I would not use it for anything other than target practice.

May you display your weapon before you have legal cause to fire it?

A Michigan court says "yes" under Michigan law: Yesterday the Michigan Court of Appeals handed down a decision in a highly public and very controversial case that gun owners across the United States should applaud. In short, it demonstrates and validates the value of armed self-defense even when you...

AARP lobbied for Obamacare. Why? Probably cause AARP knew it would make billions.
AARP is a left-wing lobbying organization that sells insurance and offers a few side benefits to obscure its true nature. I won't have anything to do with them.

Re: Dems threaten SCOTUS over upcoming 2A case

I know those Justices are cut from better stuff than me, but if I sat on that bench I'd rule against whatever the Dems wanted just because of their threat I don't know about "better stuff," whatever that might mean. But my thoughts went down a related line. We might hope that, to discourage such th...

I would cut them a little slack. They were on an extended hunting trip and got a little lost. I’ve done that before. Yeah, me too. I appreciate the levity, but the larger point is important because it's typically ignored. Those we know as "Native Americans" or "Australian Aboriginals" are the desce...

Re: News Reports of Texas Gun Laws Taking Effect 9/1/19

A) How convoluted the law was as it was written Simply written, easily understood laws are an aspirational goal. We should strive for them while nevertheless recognizing we'll never entirely get there. I once wrote just one chapter of a code of ordinances for the city for which I was an Assistant C...

We got National Park carry under Obama.

We got a gun accessory classified as a machine gun under Trump.

Draw your own conclusions.
True as far as it goes, but I doubt you would prefer Obama to Trump or Democrats to Republicans, generally. Abjuring the lesser evil gets you the greater evil.

Branca states: My advice is that you exercise your Second Amendment rights responsibly, like adults who both demand that right and accept the responsibilities that come with it, rather than as self-serving adult-children who want rights without responsibility. Because if the second path is chosen, t...

The reliability of Infowars, as a news source, is comparable to that of the National Enquirer. They will pass along anything that is given to them, as long as it fits their agenda, regardless of its validity or truthfulness. There's a followup: PATCHOGUE, NY — A day after anti-Trump supporter flier...

Re: Are we de facto in more danger from Republicans than Democrats in regard to 2nd Amendment?

Depends on what you mean by "de facto danger." Democrats will always take any anti-gun step they can, up to and including legislating confiscation (let's not get into the difficulties of effecting confiscation). Republicans are the only bulwark, and when they decide to relent on some point, that poi...

Also ask the lawyer whether you are turning an exempt asset into a non-exempt one. This bears upon whether the guns could be taken in partial satisfaction of a judgment entered against you.

Ask the lawyer preparing the trust to look into that.
