Those were forming their own states and staying in the Union, though. It primarily affected that state. If a state tried to form their own country and leave the Union entirely, all of a sudden it affects the country and every state in it. I'm personally all for it, but once you start messing with the federal tax revenue generated by the state in question, you're gonna get the attention of every paycheck-drawing loser in Washington.Liberty wrote:Maine separated from Massachusetts, West Virginia from Virginia.
