Re: Active Shooter reported at Santa Fe High School

I personally think a lot of the issue is social media. It gives a false sense that everyone's life is better than yours. It's rare to see people post about the bad in there life on social media so it looks like all lives but yours are great. As an adult we know this isn't true but I imagine this is ...

Re: Kahr P9

I have a CW9. The Kahr is slightly thinner and the trigger is a longer pull but it doesn't really have creep it in, it is a smooth pull. If you look up how a Kahr operates you will see the striker needs to be pulled back with the trigger quite a ways compared to other striker fire designs. That's ho...

Ranges around McKinney

So I recently moved to McKinney and now that things are settling down I need to get back to a range. What are my options in the area? For now I'm looking for pistol but later somewhere for carbine and rifle.

Re: Why Is Passenger Asked For I.D.?

This has been posted before I believe. It makes very good points.

I believe you should be polite to officer they are just doing there job but also not give information they did not need for the stop.

Re: Laptop display problem

I have an hp I use with a dock. If the screen is closed it will automatically go to the external monitors. So if computer still works to the point it knows the screen is closed you could try that. But you are also going to need an external keyboard and mouse.

I second looking at savage though if you are left handed like I am some features are not on the lefty versions. But they seem to have the best lefty selection the last time I looked.

Looks like they are still doing it. There is a calendar somewhere on the site. It's called night of life

Re: Stop The Bleed - free medical training

I found nothing within 250 miles of Houston. I had used this site before with same result. Maybe I am using it wrong Here you go for next week. https://ccemsnews.com/2018/03/20/national-stop-the-bleed-day-is-march-31/ Last year MCHD in Conroe did an evening class once a month me and the wife attend...

Re: Hornady Critical Defense 9mm Ammo

I have a VP9 and I have no problems with Federal HST LE in it. I believe they are 147g. I have not shot any Hornady in it I don't believe. The gun is way more accurate than I am. I believe the VP9 was designed around shooting 124 NATO so a little heavier bullet might be nice. Also not that it really...

Re: Field and Stream sites, 12/10-16/17 handguns for sale.

Field and Stream is a subsidiary of Dick's Sporting Goods. The Friendswood, Tx Field and Stream store is adjacent or actually adjoins a Dick's Sporting Goods. Field and Stream Stores sell AR-15's and other tactical weapons and accessories, though Dick's suspended sale of AR-15's in their stores in ...

Re: Wife wants a new falling plate pistol

HK. They have the VP9 sk which is the compact if that helps I don't think that will help with grip much, it takes the same mags as the full size. On the full size the small grip panels are pretty narrow in my opinion. If he takes her to a store I would ask them to see the other panels and change th...

Re: Wife wants a new falling plate pistol

I have a standard XD-9(never tried the XDm which I'm sure is better) and a VP-9. The VP to me is a tack-driver compared to my XD. The VP does have a different sight picture out the box it is set for covering the target not holding under if that matters. If HK keeps following suit with what the P30 h...

Re: Stop the Bleeding

For those north of Houston, Montgomery County has this also which is free. It's on the south loop in Conroe.

Hands only CPR, defibrillator usage, bleed control.
