Like an alcoholic you must remove temptation from your grasp. I am willing to take your firearms and keep you from them until we both feel you can handle them w/o temptation.

Re: Rev. Jackson opposes plan to arm officers with combat rifles

"I can understand police feel outgunned and out armed by gangs, but that is why we need a ban on assault weapons," he said. "The killings coming from these weapons happen to be Northern Illinois University, Columbine and Virginia Tech." Since there is an almost total gun ban in C...

Re: Bexar County Tax Office (Vista Verde Plaza)

I have been there several times -- always unarmed since I generally go on my lunch hour from work and it annoys me each time I go through the metal detector. I have always wondered how they get away with it but never bothered to ask as I figure that no one there would know anyway.

Re: Acaemy's new gun sale policy (GRRRRR)

They also won't remove the trigger locks when one is inspecting. I've told them that this policy will limit my purchases to ammo and accessories. I would never purchase a firearm unless I already knew how it would feel, including how the trigger felt. This is the one that sets me off --- I mentione...

Re: Rebecca Suspended. YEA!!!? Badgering a Victim! NEW INFO

What about the producer and editor who allowed the interview on the air? Seems to me that Rebecca could not have gotten the interview aired by herself. Someone approved it and while I think she was obnoxious I don't think she is the one responsible. I think Fox just threw her to the wolves to save h...

Re: This is what happens when your not a Texan

One thing mentioned on TV that hasn't come out here ---- The homeowner had 20 minutes notice that the crowd was headed to his house and elected not to call the police. He instead used the time to dig out his pistol.

Re: Strange situation last nite.

The strange thing in all of this to me, is the notion of a 24 hour post office. Never seen such a thing out here in Podunk. It isn't truly a 24 hour post office --- It just ha an automated system for mailing packages after hours --- it weighs your package, prints out the postage and you drop your p...

Re: Strange situation last nite.

Could be there were stealing packages? This would be the logical season for it . They could have been but I don't think so. The impression I got from both of them was that they had a legitimate reason to be there, particularly her. I don't know how to explain it but she had a kind of "this is ...

Re: Strange situation last nite.

So you carry in the post office??? It sure does sound funny...that much "odd" behavior at that time of night would have tripped the alarms for me too ;-) Not normally, normally I would have dropped the pistol in the center console but I decided I would rather pay a fine if I got caught th...

Re: Trigger Locks Mandatory?

I haven't bought a long gun in a while but the last four handguns I bought here in Texas as part of the paperwork I had to sign a form saying that the dealer had offered me a lock if one didn't come with the gun. Academy told me that even if the gun came with a lock they would give me one.

Strange situation last nite.

Last nite or actually early this morning - just after midnite, my wife decided that we needed to mail two packages at the post office using the automated mailing service. So off we go. When we get to the post office I notice 3 cars in the lot. A dark PT Cruiser on the left of the left of the entry w...

That said, there are certain rare situations that one has no choice but to dive headlong into the fray (i.e. Luby's in Waco). Hey Lodge2004, I understand your stance and your statement sums up what I learned and hold true as my justification for using deadly force. The suspect in his criminal actio...

If you can live with the fact that you chose to do nothing when someone was raped, killed, etc. etc. then good for you. We each weigh the risks and respond accordingly. I believe the original statement was a gas station being robbed. Nobody said anything about raped, killed etc. We are now talking ...

You know if I was working at a store and I was being robbed I would pray that someone would help me. AND NOT JUST SIT IN THEIR CAR AND DO NOTHING BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT BEING THREATENED. Well see here is the thing. I got a chl to protect me and mine. I did not get it to protect you. I did not get it ...
