Re: "Waiting Room"

Took just around 4 months to receive my Texas LTC. took 5 weeks to receive my Arizona concealed weapons permit .... It would be nice for Texas to call Arizona DPS and ask how to speed up the process ...

Thank you. We will likely just wait for Texas.
It took almost 4 full months to get my LTC, my girlfriend sent hers off 3 weeks ago , and its in print pending .... were both in our mid 40's.. I just wish I knew why some of us take forever and some are lighting fast

I was saying the same thing not too long ago until my status change to print pending after I submitted supporting documents for a misdemeanor charge in 1995. I sent my Arizona packet off and it was returned because my Texas license to carry class was not conducted by an NRA certified instructor. What is nice is they returned my check and the fingerprint cards. I'm not really sure how to proceed if that is the requirement. My license to carry instructor his certified in police and military instruction. Please let me know how that goes for you. Right now I'm on day 4 of print pending here in Texas so I am hoping it doesn't take much longer before they mail it. Good luck!
Well at least you got your money back!!! My status finally changed after almost 2 weeks of sending in my Mississippi supporting documents. Arizona permit still pending. All I did was send in a copy of my DD214 for the training requirement.

Brandon23 wrote:I called dps office today, my application was all sent and received December 2 2016 which means today is the 60 days. She tells me it's all recieved and not seeing that any further information is needed so I asked if you have 60 days why is my application not finished and she tells me they have 180 days if they want. I said if I had a arrest and something being questioned you have up to 180 days then she tells me well we have up to 8 weeks for processing. Anyone hear of this?
you were 100% right.. if something pops up on your background that you did not tell them about, then they have up to 180 days.... and its 60 working days not weekends and holidays .. November 17th is when my finger print and back ground check went "Under review " but I feel you, they do what they want, when they want, and as slow as they want !!!

JCC511 wrote:Received a letter today about a (let's call it) legal hiccup from the past in another state. No charges filed and no conviction. On the record, but should have been esponged or non-existent. I guess the record does not go away and has to be explained. Again, it was in another state. For whatever reason, the state of Texas showed it to be in (let's call it) "Anytown PD" and "Anytown County" in Texas. It was not even in Texas. The actual city in the correct state has been called and the process of requesting a document confirming the legal hiccup went nowhere beyond the car ride and holding time until dismissal three hours later. A Texas CHL-78Cwill likely have to be filed as well to be included as additional supporting documents. The letter from DPS was dated 1/13/2017 and today is 1/20/2017. Seemed to take a while for within the state mail. Once they receive the documents that will be uploaded, they should be able to move forward. Just an update for everyone.
here the crazy thing that I just don't understand.. they have the record right in front of them.. They already Know that nothing came from it, and They still want you to explain it ???? that just crazy bro...plus that not part of what they ask for when you did the app online, they ask if you had anything within a time frame if i'm not mistaken ... I've all but given up on Texas LTC just waiting on my Arizona CHL to come in the mail so I can send it off

But my question is does anyone know where they mail the plastic from? I tried searching online and couldn't find anything. My status as this morning stated mailed so I'm sure y'all can guess I'm ecstatic! I read on a forum awhile back that they don't mail it from Austin and it's made somewhere else. Can anyone answer this?
congrats :hurry: I have no clue were they mail the plastic from, how long did it take for your status to go to mailed ?

That stinks man. From what I see 2 days is the norm....has anything ever been lost in the mail for you?
Nope. When they sent me a letter asking for some stuff I missed it took 4 days according to the date on the letter. May have to call if it doesn't show by Wednesday, it will have been two weeks by then.
Just got off the phone, it was actually mailed on the 22nd and they said it should arrive within 14 business days but if for some reason it's lost they won't send a replacement until after 30 days.
When you get it it will be that much more worth it....Praying the shipping gods work a miracle and you get it in the mail tomorrow....Good luck.
Well, guessing it's been lost at this point. First time I haven't received something in the mail. Won't be able to request a replacement until next week.
Check your neighbor bro... cant hurt to ask right ?

Seems easier to just send off for an Arizona permit. If I finally get my LTC, I will overlap the 4 years for the Texas one at the 2 year mark with an Arizona one. God knows how long it takes to renew the LTC after this crap. at least I'll have a valid permit while I wait.
Until you said that i didn't know that was possible but i looked at the Arizona concealed weapons website and sure enough it states you can apply as long as you are a US citizen. Would be just amazing to have to apply through another state other than my home state and place of my birth to have a constitutional right to arm myself.

I'm shocked just how fast Arizona got back with me today.. I think I'm going to give this a try.. but I do have one question.. will the class we took for Texas Ltc work for Arizona ? or do we have to take a new class ?

Re: "Waiting Room"

I never received a confirmation email . I have called DPS about a week ago and was told they have everything they needed. I knew better then to ask any other question about the status of my application knowing I would get the same old " we have 60 days " . so I just said thank you and hung up ... My problem with all the waiting is then not telling us anything.. I would love for them to say sir we have a problem with your background so its taking more time.. or sir I'm sorry but your application has been denied .. any thing but the same old thing... and one other thing.. my girlfriend sent her stuff in 3 weeks after I did and it only took around 20 days and she had hers in hand ... when I had to pay DPS for some surcharges for a ticket I got a few years ago.. they were quick to get there money... I'm on day 41 business days . I don't count the weekends
