Re: What Distance Qualifies as "Long Range"?

It was explained like this to me when I got into extended long range shooting. Normal shooting is 100-300 yards. Medium range is from 301-600. Long range is from 601-1,000. Extended long range is anything over a thousand yards. The difficulty increases geometrically with every step. Having shot with...

Re: Just became a resident, non-resident CHL?

Nice It's like a poor man's Emerson Wave, and probably easier on pockets. Yes exactly. They also make "Kydex Waves" that you can add on. It's kind of fun because it breathes new life into old carry knives. I have one of the original glossy carbon fiber harpies and I'd never modify it, but...

Re: Just became a resident, non-resident CHL?

Just out of curiosity, I know what a Spyderco, and an Emerson Wave, are, but what is a "zip tied" Spyderco https://youtu.be/LH2q68D81fI :tiphat: Yep that's the one. You can also cut a notch in the spider hole but that compromises the integrity of the blade. If you do it right the zip tie ...

Re: Just became a resident, non-resident CHL?

Ah that makes sense, I used to bow hunt near Lake Sonoma and that's army corps of engineers land. It was nice but there were too many noisy people with crossbows. Could be some nice spots to bow hunt though, maybe less hunting pressure. I'll have to ask around. As for city carry, I'm 6' 200 lbs so p...

Re: Just became a resident, non-resident CHL?

ApolloFrost, Just curious: Was the local wildlife human or animal? Thanks! A three foot snake swam onto the bank while I was baiting a hook and was maybe a foot away from me before I realized. Didn't get a really good look at it but I'm 90% sure it was harmless. No pinched neck so not a water mocca...

Oh! Just googled it. Guess I'm waiting until September and using the extra money for ammo and practice.

Just became a resident, non-resident CHL?

Howdy, I recently moved from California for a number of reasons, chief among them being that I was born to do more than pay bills and die. I surrendered my CA drivers license and got everything switched over to Texas so that's all sorted. I was looking into getting a CHL so I can carry concealed whi...
