I have a feeling that many of the points made in this thread will wind up applying to the next election.

(Sadly) my money is on Kamila, Beto and Bernie winding up as the three main players at the end, with Beto edging out the other two a few months into the primaries. I'm betting Beto 'clinches' on or around the Indiana primary but before the Arkansas, Kentucky, and Oregon primaries... And that the Dem convention sticks with the expected result.

Also concerning, Trump is trying to stick a label on Beto but his first attempt was talking about hand movements... Not terribly powerful stuff. I think he might have lost his edge. "Drunken Irishman" has a nice ring to it.

Actually you are correct. Look at the insurance actuarry tabled. Rates are lowered at 25. According to science, the brain is not fully mature until about 25 years of age. Young kids just don’t think as well as adults.

Personally I would like to see a law that all tobacco, marijuana, alcohol, voting and the draft be legally required to apply at the same age. Be it 18, 21 (my preference) or 25.

There is no reason you should be drafted but not able to vote. There is no reason you should be able to vote but not buy alcohol. Essentially they are all constitutional rights (in the sense that government must recognize the rights of a full-bodied citizen) and should all apply equally, as well as buying firearms.

Most people forget but students and minors have several parts of the BOR curtailed for them (free speech, to some extend, freedom of association, to some extent, due process, to some extent). Once a minor become "not a minor" or a full-fledged citizen or legal person in our country, they need to have all the rights and responsibilities that entails. Don't pick and choose based on whats convenient for that voting year.

If you are not mature enough to buy a pistol and carry until you are 21, then you are not mature enough to vote. Make all ages requirements the same...

It is funny though that the press is trying to set this up as Ted refusing a debate. He hasn't refused any debates (though Beto has), but the way they are reporting it is as if this was going to be a debate, not a town hall.

On the sec of state form you fill out to run it has a blank for your name and another for your name as you want on the ballot (nicknames you to be commonly known by the nickname for 3 yrs prior)

They have a legal duty to provide threat assessment regarding the functions they oversee. If that threat assessment includes the reasonable risk that a pot-shot may be taken at a protectee, then they have the legal authority (and responsibility) to ban all firearms.

I never said that there were no R millennials. And my inference was that young dems probably haven't thought about a state income tax and that was my point. There are some attractive pieces to socialism for younger people, especially if they haven't yet figured out how it's paid for.

white male millennials prefer R over D by 9%. Look at the chart 'REGISTERED MILLENNIAL VOTERS' and you will see that white males are R 46% to 37% D.

And you blanket statement-ed all 'millennials'. "I bet the millennials will not be too happy about state income tax". Pretty sure I don't see a "most" or "many" quantifier in there.
