Re: Grandkids .22 rifle recommendation

All good answers. There's a lot to be said for the single-shot bolt action like a Cricket. I went with the 10/22 just because I already had it. Brownells has a youth sized stock for it for about $90 - truly youth size, not just cut down. As they grew I just swapped stocks and they were able to keep ...

Re: Source of decently priced .45 projectiles?

Brazos Bullet Company, very high quality lead and coated lead bullets. Texas company run by competitive shooters who know what they're doing. I know the owners but I'm not connected in any way and get nothing for this recommendation - I just think they do a good job...

Re: What is your favorite carry revolver

S&W J frame in .327 magnum (not a typo, .327 instead of .357). I don't always carry a revolver, but when I do I sure like that one.

Re: How can I confirm who owns property (private vs publicly owned)

I'm not an expert on property codes for tax purposes but thought XV is just a property that doesn't fit in other exempt categories. Could be church, non-profits, charities, and such?

Re: How can I confirm who owns property (private vs publicly owned)

A quick answer is to check the county appraisal district website. CAD's can sometimes be incorrect if the property changed hands recently, but are usually useful. In this case hcad.org shows the owner as "Alley Theatre". My guess would be it's a non-profit corporation that owns the theater...

Social media is an incredibly powerful marketing tool, especially to the younger generations that don't truly understand how our liberties are being eroded and why that is important...

Re: Beyond the One Percent: How do we get more people to attend training beyond the state minimum?

...Most people don't need any training beyond truly basic training... Chas. Agreed. I'd also say that if folks are going to spend their limited time and money on additional training they might benefit more from taking a first aid class than a shooting class (although learning to shoot better might ...

Re: Nervous about my proficiency test next week

Just wondering if the Procter will ask me to demonstrate anything specific with my pistol, so that I can be prepared for it. A lot of good answers. My only suggestion is a little shift in thinking. It's natural to want to pass...but a test can be about evaluation instead of accomplishment. Use the ...
