You'll be fine. We just moved here from out of state (NJ), and it took 12 business days for my background to go green (literally yesterday). I think moving from out of state does add to the wait time because DPS needs to get data from the agencies in your previous state. If it's taking this long, I think it's probably because CA is dragging its feet in getting DPS what it's requesting. I believe the folks at DPS do a good job at this, meaning, when someone is a lifelong TX resident, things seem to move very quickly and efficiently. Still waiting. Sigh. I have a horrible feeling I'm going to have to wait close to the 60 day limit. I'm from California, couple speeding tickets, and a misdemeanor from nine years ago. It's nothing that will disqualify me. I've been purchasing firearms in California with their checks and waiting periods just fine. In fact, it was dismissed and expunged a few years ago. Still, that's probably why I have to wait 2 months. SIGH someone reassure me
