Re: Driving safety to Las Cruces, NM

Watch the fuel gauge! Compared to the rest of the state, there aren't many places to gas up. Fill ups in Midland Odessa, Van Horne, Pecos, etc. Between larger cities, there isn't much. And note the speed limits between west of Odessa and east of El Paso go up to 80.

Re: Moral Dilemma

In a month or so the original owner will have forgotten, and certainly not recognize these fine animals. The manner in which we treat animals is a small measure of how we would like to treat each other.

Re: Woman killed by FT Worth PD officer

Fox4 reports that she had a license to carry and per the minor witness, she had a handgun in her purse which she removed when she heard the noise outside. Someone shouting POLICE might have led to a better outcome.

Re: Who's going to trump rally?

There used to be rules, spoken or otherwise, that shielded a candidate's wife and children. We need to rethink the 'new' values. If you don't like a person's political position, fine. Point it out. You don't chase a deceased son.

I appreciate the responses. If this photo displays, it will show how tight the fit is. Only 1.6 inches of wood between the brick and storm door. I think a pivot might work, but will need to be 90 degrees.

Ring Doorbell

My wife is on me to get a Ring or similar doorbell camera. She gets no argument from me except the space available is extremely narrow and won't permit a flush mount. Talked to my BIL this weekend and he was aware of one that pivoted out so it could be mounted at an angle and still see who is coming...

Re: going to AZ and NM

There are a couple of apps available for your cell phone that provide a lot of state by state info. Just be sure you don't get a wild thought of crossing into California. Find a temporary home for the gear in Arizona.

Re: El Paso Walmart Shooting

Here's something else to ponder. Do y'all recall the group, I think from Tarrant County, who were lobbying for open carry for handguns and went about town with long guns and AR's? I think I recall they visited retailers like WalMart at the time. I just wonder how they would manage right now given th...

Re: El Paso Walmart Shooting

And another hendrance--given the number of people in the store, and all of them running for thei lives, even if you think you have a clear shot, the odds of harming an innocent is pretty high. A lot of holders might hesitate in fear of hitting a bystander and then needing to invoke their LTC group i...

Re: 9 Days

That's great news. My wife's car was broken into today and the wallet was taken with her license. Police captured one of the women involved. Other gone with the goods. Replacement is about 15 bucks on line for seniors. Good to know it will be coming quickly.

Is total number of LTCs published?

I've found the DPS site that shows the annual new licenses, revokes, but not renewals or total over all number. Without renewals I don't think I can calculate the total current licenses. Anyone know where the numbers are stored?
