Re: Duty to Provide LTC on Voluntary Identification to LEO?

Something I have wondered about but never had happen to me until tonight, note I was NOT carrying: I was acting as an intermediary on a return of property for my son's his future ex to return property and cash. She asked that I meet her at a neutral location for her to transfer said items to me. as...

Re: Kenosha Wisconsin Shooter discussion

That said, the shooter here likely could not legally carry a handgun, so I can't fault him on this point. His other mistake was that he could not legally carry a rifle either. In Wisconsin, it is illegal for a minor to be in possession of any loaded weapon. This has been my biggest concern since we...

Re: Traveling to the North East

If your 1 night stay is at your son's house, that's a "visit". No FOPA protection. If your 1 night stay is in a hotel along the way, I'd urge you to reconsider your schedule and avoid it. Reading FOPA, I don't see anything about overnight stay protection. https://www.nraila.org/articles/20140630/gu...

Re: NJ: out of ammunition

An interesting thing I've noticed. Bulk former Soviet Bloc ammunition is still available. I saw 1000 rd 7.62x39 for $325 at ammoman. That with 9mm bulk selling for around $0.50 and 5.56 for like $0.65 if you can find it. So if I had an import license (like Ammoman) I would order a couple container s...

Re: Big win in CA - "High capacity mags" case (Duncan et al)

Is Hawaii part of the 9th circuit jurisdiction? They have a magazine ban. Hawaii prohibits “[t]he manufacture, possession, sale, barter, trade, gift, transfer, or acquisition of detachable ammunition magazines with a capacity in excess of ten rounds which are designed for or capable of use with a p...

Re: Why Do You Need To Wear A Gun In My Store?

I went to an independent Jewelry store near me to have my wedding ring polished and my wife's ring cleaned. No signs. I'm not sure if the owner/employees were CCing, but behind the counter toward the back where their safe was there was a 12ga pistol grip shotgun leaning against the open safe door. I...

Re: Big win in CA - "High capacity mags" case (Duncan et al)

I know that Commifornia will appeal this, but if this holds, as is, several other states, will be affected. It will also affect anyone charged, criminally, under a magazine capacity law. I’m beginning to think the Nonth Circuit is getting tired of having their decisions overturned. I don't know if ...

Re: Covid and 51%

Others had not been including things like ticket sales for live music events, and when they totaled that up their alcohol sales dropped to under 51%. Some slightly creative business practices and accounting, but nothing illegal. This right here should be how it is ALL the time - not just when it is...

The still shot above looks like a right handed shooter.
Yeah I looked again. Maybe I'll post my question some other thread. It just seems like I always spot the left holster wearing cops.

Re: Sheboygan, WI: Man chases cops with knives

I have been doing an unofficial 'survey' since I started paying attention to and shooting guns in the early 80's. I am consistently amazed at the number of police officers that are left handed (shooters). I thought that left handedness was <10% of the population. It seem's every time I see armed LEO...

Re: Texas Lawmakers Sue Gov. Abbott over Contact Tracing Deal

Contact tracing has been used for a very long time as a public health measure to slow or stop the spread of many communicable diseases. It in no way impinges an anyone's freedoms. Fine for diseases with a high mortality and relatively limited spread. Example, I contracted hepatitis A in 1994, like ...

Re: Massive explosion in Beiruit today

Here I was, thinking in terms of US tons. Turns out, it was 2750 METRIC tons of explosives, which is 3031.356 US tons....or 6,062,712 pounds. A small factoid, but interesting to me. What’s a other 281.356 tons, give or take? To put things into perspective, the Oklahoma City bombing used 7000 lbs of...

If the felony charge was more then 7 years ago, doesn’t that wash? Or is it a lifetime ordeal?

I know...I’ve added no value to the question "rlol"
Federally a felony conviction is a lifetime bar to possession of firearms...unless it is pardoned, expunged, or otherwise set aside.
