Re: Ever Eaten Raw Beef?

Sounds like steak tartare. However, given that the Mongols/Tartars were barbarians, I lack a craving for their food, and am suspect of their methods of preparation...I heard they put it under their saddles... I generally will try anything with the caveat that it must be dead prior to consumi...

Re: HB 349 - Make bump stocks illegal in Texas

The question is whether there are any pro gun legislators who will introduce a bill to repeal state laws on silencers, short barrels, and machine guns. Like pro-marijuana legislators in other states got rid of their state laws on marijuana. There's no enumerated right to grow and smoke weed, so the...

Re: Must Barrell Ends Be Threaded To Accept A Suppressor?

There are some submachine guns (notably H&K MP5's) that have 3 lugs on the barrel that are made for attaching a silencer. There are also some silencer manufacturers that make quick disconnect adapters for silencers that attach to the barrel threading and then allow quick connect/disconnect. Tom Bowe...

Re: HB 131 - Here come "Extreme Risk Protection Orders"......

I think that there needs to be a method for doing this. The question is not need but assuring that it is not abused. Therefore, the protections built into the bill should be the battleground in my opinion. Any process which is 'EX PARTE' is by definition unfair. Why no ex parte process for taking p...

Re: Alcohol and self defense

I think there is a combination of things to consider. The two big ones are the criminal case and the civil suit. In the criminal case. I think most of the question in the criminal case is going to be if the shoot was justified or not. If the shoot was clearly justified, I doubt if your being buzzed...

Re: Alcohol and self defense

If God is all powerful, can He make a rock so big He can’t lift it? If you fail to take Communion on a Holy Day of Obligation, but you are on ship and cross the international date line then do, are you still guilty of a mortal sin? Exactly how many angels may dance on the head of a pin? What is the ...

Re: California bar shooting leaves 12 dead

Wouldn’t be surprised if the Sheriffs department has a rule no carrying guns while you’re drinking regardless of amount, and these guys were out for a good time, so nobody was armed. Maybe it would be simpler to just have a rule no drinking ever...then no one would have to go unarmed. Or maybe a ba...

Re: When is a place a polling place

Regardless of whether a place is considered a "polling place" it is not an offense to carry there unless on election day or while early voting is taking place. PC §46.03. PLACES WEAPONS PROHIBITED. (a) A person commits an offense if the person intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly possesses or goe...

Re: Medical Facilities

Government owned hospitals can post enforceable 30.06/7 signs because carry under (authority of) LTC in hospitals is prohibited in PC 46.035, if they post a 30.0x sign. Not quite. LTC carry in hospitals is prohibited by TCP 46.035 if they give effective notice. There's nothing there about posting a...

Re: Happy Birthday ScottDLS

Happy birthday also, appears we share the same date, if not the same year. On the downside, the Soviets invaded hungry on this day in 1956 and crush the rebellion against totalitarian rule. On the plus side, Ronald Reagan was elected president for the first time on this date in 1980. That was my fi...
