Re: HB 2046

I’ll probably be crusified on here, but I very much support this Bill! I oppose HB 1149! I’m glad that a person with a DWI or Assault conviction has to wait 5 years! I also think dead beat parents that don’t pay child support should be denied. I’m happy with the current Eligibility requirements in ...

Re: Report: More Than 1,700 Red Flag Orders in 2018

We all have to be realistic that there are people that should not have firearms. No doubt those people also shouldn't have sharp objects, motor vehicles, et cetera. If somebody is truly a danger to themselves and others, the tool isn't the real problem. I agree but how, if we know someone is a risk...

Re: A somewhat unique situation.

You do not say where you are located. Public transportation that is not owned privately, is not allowed to deny Licensed carry. Your place of work can, they do not even have to have signage if they have notified you. This could be done as simply as notification in your employee handbook. A notifica...

Re: HR 1263 Adds semiauto rifles and shotguns to NFA 1986

Small point of order...it’s the NFA of 1934, as amended by the GCA of 1968, and the Inartfully named FOPA of 1986. :rules:

Re: Rep. Michael Burgess may be dangerous

All rights should be applied equally. If you want to lower the voting age, fine, lower the drinking age, the age at which one can sign legal contracts, the age at which one can purchase firearms, the age at which one can be conscripted for military service, the age at which one can marry, ad nauseu...

Re: TABC sting goes bad for them

Long term solution. Lower the drinking age to 18 to reduce the amount of TABC agents required to enforce this particular violation. If it worked until 1984 it ought to be ok in 2019. :smash:

Re: What do you use to monitor safe humidity?

Just curious what everyone uses to monitor the conditions inside their safes. I have a dial humidistat that I don't fully trust but what I would really like would be able to know what was going on inside without opening the door. Liberty's fancy monitor seems cool but its it's pricey and I don't ne...

Re: HB 2164 - civil and criminal penalties for prohibiting LEO carry

This could never pass...Texas has a 180 year long tradition of property owners’ absolute dominion over their property  . Except for cops, volunteer emergency responders, and corporate parking lots, and utility workers, and respect for common law, and out of state shareholder rights, and common...

Re: Real estate agents getting concealed gun permits

I can tell you as a Landlord, even in Texas, I'm really glad I have one. I have three Single Family Properties in Tarrant and Denton County. I think they are in fairly nice working class/middle class neighborhoods, but I'm happy to have protection when I show them for rent and when I tour potential ...

Re: National Conceal-Carry. No Hope

Well at least we got a bump stock ban even without Congress. My hope is for absolutely NO legislation at the Federal level. It's not an enumerated power of the central government to govern possession, wearing, and carry of arms in the States. We have a long history of (arguably) unconstitutional leg...

Re: CHL Denial Question

Jeddle, you might want to check Texas laws before you rely on a Florida permit to carry here. I'm no expert, but it seems like out of state permits are not valid in Texas if you are a Texas resident. Probably someone here knows better than I do, but it's worth checking, rather than risk a felony co...

Re: Relocating From CA--->Texas Soon

Currently it appears to take only a few weeks for your LTC paperwork to be processed, plus both your current licenses are recognized here, so I don't think I'd spend the money to fly out and take the class. Texas doesn't mark licenses as non-resident, it's just a LTC with an out of state address, b...
