One less communist in the race.

Guess he has taken in enough money to last him until the next race he gets in.
Per the article:
He is not expected to run for any other office in 2020, despite persistent efforts by party leaders and political donors to coax him into another bid for the Senate.
Of course, I’ll believe it when I see it.
I believe he is running for state office again. I base that on the fact that two years ago he was against gun confiscation, two months ago he was for it, and in the last week he has denied that he ever advocated it.
He announced right after his campaign withdrawal statement that he would not run for public office again.

So yeah... he’s running. "rlol"

Beto says Buttigieg afraid to confiscate guns.
So Irish Bob O’Rourke isn’t afraid to give voice to his inner totalitarian..... how comforting....

I was in a meeting with Dan Patrick last week. I'm paraphrasing his numbers as best that I can remember them but the Republican turnout for an off year election was equal to or greater than the Republican turnout for the 2016 Presidential election. That should have been a landslide victory, given Texas voter registration. But it wasn't

The problem came in the huge number of newly registered Democratic voters. My comment is that the opening of polling places on college campuses is probably at least partly to blame for the increased numbers. But that wasn't the only issue.

Tarrant County, outside of Ft. Worth is deep red territory. Yet Cruz lost to Beto in Tarrant county. Additionally, down ballot races from Senator to judges saw incumbents lose because there was a lot of straight ticket voting for Beto. That suggests that those voters were not willing to negotiate the two pages of names. That problem is now fixed (or not, depending on your perspective) because there is no longer a straight ticket option.

Beto's campaign, according to Patrick was responsible for all of the GOP candidates losing in Dallas County, too. The Republicans were out-mobilized. That is what happens when you have the money that poured in from out of State. Make no mistake - the Democratic party clearly saw the effects of their investment. If they can turn Texas blue, there is no chance for a Republican Presidential candidate to win ever again. With that much incentive, the Beto money flood will likely pale in comparison to what happens for 2020.
You’re hitting the nail right on the head. Fort Worth WAS the last republican held city of significant size left in Texas, and it flipped....or is in the process of flipping. I’m told that even North Richland Hills, where I now live, went for Beto. I would not be surprised if Grapevine, where I used to live, also when for him. The GOP in Texas is in deep, DEEP trouble, and it feels like they’re just spinning their wheels and fiddling while Rome burns. There are a LOT of conservative Texans right now, who are going to be badly surprised in the next year or two...maybe LESS... when they wake up one day to find that they are living in a democrat controlled state; and they’re going to say that they didn’t see it coming. And they’re going to find out what it feels like to be a conservative and/or republican in California. The state GOP just doesn’t see the train coming down the tracks, and the tracks look like a good place to park their car.

I am very well aware of how pessimistic I sound, but I have lived through this before!!!

Well here’s something interesting!

https://www.dailywire.com/news/44723/re ... n-saavedra
In a profile that also documented O'Rourke's involvement in a hacker group, Reuters reported: "it’s unclear whether the United States is ready for a presidential contender who, as a teenager, stole long-distance phone service for his dial-up modem, wrote a murder fantasy in which the narrator drives over children on the street, and mused about a society without money."

Beto O'Rourke has decided not to run for U.S. Senate next year against Texas Republican incumbent John Cornyn and likely will announce a campaign for president soon, people close to the former El Paso congressman told The Dallas Morning News on Wednesday.

Maybe we need a waiting period, say 5 years, before an immigrant to Texas can vote in State or Local elections?

10 years for transplants from CA, NY, NJ or WA.

Kidding, of course. Kinda.
Hey! 10 year waiting period?? Well, I won't be lying if I said that I'd be willing to give up my votes if each of my concessions means two or more fewer Democratic votes.
Those of us in Galveston County are thinking the same thing. But our fear isn't about the Californians, but rather the ignorant hoards streaming from Harris county. Something happened there. I am not sure what, but a sudden wave of stupidity suddenly took over. Has anyone checked out the water supply? Where is it commong from? Flint MI.?
Free stuff is a powerful motivator, and goes to show that even among alleged conservatives, there are those who can be bought. Add that to the blue immigration wave from other states, and the stupid is getting stronger. With every election, my urge to get away from big cities and off the grid in a rural setting gets stronger.

That’s good news.

I have to say though, I’m pretty disappointed overall in the House elections nationwide. As of this moment, ABC News is reporting that the dems have picked up 19 of the 23 seats they need for a majority, and the latest projections appear to say that dems will pick up a total of 34....which will put them very firmly in control of the House. Republicans have actually picked up a couple of seats in the senate, getting back some of that majority feeling. But Trump is going to have a lot rougher time going forward. And I am choking on the words “Speaker Pelosi”.

It was displayed on the FoxNews chiron. But, I could have possibly misread it. Or, maybe it was a typo that fox accidentally put up wrong.

I’m getting a little worried. With 66% of the vote in, Irish Bob O’Rourke is up by a couple of percent over Cruz. This is closer than I expected.
