Re: Gallup: Majority of Americans oppose bans on “assault rifles”

Of course. They’re much smarter than all of us ‘deplorables’.

Re: OT: Texas Backroad Borders

Well, I travel off-road here in the border area often, and I am ALWAYS armed, usually with both handgun and rifle, with a generous supply of ammo for both.. I would just have to avoid traveling into Mexico, as I do now.

When traveling the coast, do they sometimes venture into the Gulf?

Re: OT: Texas Backroad Borders

I love the idea, and may try some of it myself. But I don’t see how this is ‘off topic’ - it certainly would be prudent to be well-armed.

Re: Experience dealing with LEOs during events etc?

Yeah, the out of state thing is your problem. It just says, "I ain't from here." Get your Texas LTC and things will be different, most of the time. Our friend Lyle Lovett sez it best: You say you're not from Texas, Man, as if I couldn't tell, You think you pull your boots on right, And wear your ha...

And in the future (and for anyone else considering this), if you're resolved to do it, put it in a place that doesn't show, like under a handgrip or stock.

Re: 2 Revolutions attributed to Gun Control

Not a bad Idea but in your neck of the woods it just might start another revolution! Well, I already fly various flags on days special to Texans: Independence Day and Sam Houston’s Birthday; the anniversaries of the fall of the Alamo and the battle of San Jacinto and the day we became a state. Nobo...

Re: 2 Revolutions attributed to Gun Control

I just marked Oct 2 in my phone’s calendar as Come and Take It - Gonzales Flag Day. I’ve had a Gonzales flag for some time but never had a specific day to display it. I intend to fly that symbol of Texas liberty in front of my house every year for as long as I am able to hoist it. Let’s all get one ...

Leather, of course, by El Paso Saddlery. I carry my Colt’s Comander .45 ACP in a basket-stamped Thumbbreak model.

Re: Apartment Lease Contract Handgun Addendum

...has anyone ever seen an insurance policy that requires it? Our business has been covered by general liability insurance since we opened our doors in 1994 (so, for the complete duration of Texas' CHL/LTC laws), under successive policies as we shopped around for better coverage/rates. No policy ha...

Re: Man attacks teens in San antonio over MAGA hat

A Bexar County grand jury has indicted a 30-year-old San Antonio man who was arrested in July after he was captured on video grabbing a “Make America Great Again” cap from a teenager who was dining at a San Antonio Whataburger. I like Whataburger, but 'dining'?! That's pushing literary license a bi...

Re: NPR - "The School Shootings That Weren't"

So, my question as I listened to the broadcast: If the problem is so miniscule, why are we contemplating the further infringement of the People’s right to keep and bear arms?

Re: Another attack on the NRA ..... from “hunters”....

We get that rag for our waiting room. I’ve never seen anything about hunting in the few issues I’ve perused. I find all this demonization of the NRA almost laughable, except that they’re dead serious. We’re a perfect example of a citizens’ grassroots organization, powerful because we invest in the c...

Re: District of Columbia CCL

Several federal agencies used the NRA range after hours. That came to a quick halt under Obama. I'm sure that mindset still exists within the DC city officials. Chas. What, federal law enforcement and security personnel training has political implications? Whodathunkit? (Why am I not surprised?)
