Re: Suppressor build success

At that price I would almost guarantee they are aluminum. It'll work for .22's, but I wouldn't use it for high pressure rifle rounds.

They are. Expect a couple weeks before they ship, though. They are pretty backlogged right now, probably due to SDTA's issues. BTW, SDTA is still selling muzzle brakes, flash hiders and the adapters for them, as well as the challenge coin. They just aren't selling tubes and end caps. Crosshair Customs has both. Apogee makes tubes that fit the SDTA stuff as well.

Re: Suppressor build success

They are still selling muzzle breaks and the adapter for them, as well as the challenge coins and completed suppressors. They are no longer selling tubes or end caps. There are other sources out there for those parts that will match up with SDTA parts.

Re: Suppressor build success

That is the same forming tool I used, and it is dang near foolproof.

Re: Suppressor build success

Just finished my first form 1 suppressor. It's bored for a 9mm, and is 8" long so I can use it with 300 BLK and 5.56mm. When I get my second stamp, I'll shorten it to 6" and have an 8" 30 cal can for my rifle calibers.

The reason I built a 9mm can first is specifically to go on my AR-9 SBR I just finished a couple weeks ago. This is my purpose built, go to house gun and for anything inside 75 Image

I can't wait to hit the range Friday and test fire it!

Re: Suppressor build success

IIRC, the argument is that you are not a manufacturer (you don't pay SOT), you are a maker, and so you cannot swap components/repair yourself. You can find good details and info on this on the forum for SD Tactical Arms. I would advise doing this to try to research your clear answer before you write the ATF. Questions written to the ATF have the potential to get turned into opinion letters that negatively affect a whole bunch of gun owners, i.e. the Sig brace debacle.

Re: Suppressor build success

Well, I'm in. I filed a Form 1 Tuesday to build my first SBR (dedicated Glock mag 9mm AR with a 4" barrel) and I submitted a Form 1 today to build a suppressor for it.

Re: Suppressor build success

Well, y'all have convinced me to start on this trip. What is the consensus on forming the plugs? IS in necessary? Does it provide a significant increase in performance?

Re: Suppressor build success

What tools do you need for the drilling, build and assembly? Is there somewhere you would recommend where I could watch a step by step video or instruction guide?
