Re: Clarification on 46.03 please

46.03 covers places where weapons, specifically firearems, are prohibited. paragraph (f) states..."Except as provided by Subsection (e-1), it is not a defense to prosecution under this section that the actor possessed a handgun and was licensed to carry a handgun under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Go...

NRA Member Meeting rescheduled

The following was just posted on twitter[1] by the NRA account. I haven't seen anything else about it and can't find anything on the NRA website. It's one day so it's not the expo, must only the member meeting that normally happens on Saturday. =========== The NRA is pleased to announce that the 149...

Re: Replacing Lost Certificates

I do all 100s on my laptop and use a digital signature for my blocks. I print two copies at end of class for signatures, one for student and myself (although DPS has said we're not required to maintain a signed copy). I've had a few requests for replacement and I just send them a copy they can resign.

New one on me

I've heard a lot of people repeat the bad info rampant in the wild we've all discussed here but this is a new one on me. A student messaged me stating that another licences holder had told her that one is not allowed to carry while wearing a mask and wanted to know if that was true. Evidently this q...

Re: Printable Texas Administrative Code

The main reason I started doing that was to track changes in the code, which is why it's marked up. With the law you can look up all previous versions and bills, not so the code far as I can find.

Re: Printable Texas Administrative Code

If you're only looking for the LTC portion I put this together a while back. I try to keep it updated and think this is.

Re: Is this legal open carry?

This is also why they said a handgun in a holster laying on a car seat is not legal. It's not in a belt holster cause the holster is not attached to a belt. What if the holster on the car seat was attached to a belt, would it be legal then? You'd have to ask them. I will note that they stated this ...

Re: Is this legal open carry?

IWB/open is exactly how I've been carrying this past week, including this morning when I was running errands. IANAL, but this is how I interpret the laws: as long as the holster is a shoulder or belt holster (regardless of design), it is fine to use. Open carrying with a belly band, pocket holster,...

Re: Woud be nice to be able to do drills

.... Come on down to Houston and visit the Brazos River Sportsman's Club. Leigh John (the range owner) has several bays around the property to allow for private shooting areas. One of them has a 270-degree radius of berms around it. No, I don't have any stake in the place, but I do a lot of qualifi...

Yeah, I do several dry fire drills, it would just be nice if there where more ranges where I could do pew, pew, pew!

Woud be nice to be able to do drills

All these drills that have been posted are great, but you all must have some exceptional ranges in your area if you can actually do them. Of the six ranges I've been to in the NE-SE San Antonio area it's only possible at one. Lone Star has tactical bays to rent. Another one says don't do this stuff ...

Yep. One day, hopefully not too long, you will get an email giving you a choice of classes. At least that was my case. I think I had two dates.

Whats the originating domain of the sender?
Don't remember. Deleted it after verifying it was bogus. Ms Caballero, RSD, did also verify it was bogus.
