Re: Where to Live in Houston
The best place to live in Houston is out of Houston. The Woodlands area is nice as is part of the westside of Houston. That's fine if you don't mind the drive. I don't think someone going to law school can afford either the gas or the commute that's on the plus side of an hour. Yeah...an hour drive...

Re: North Frisco, FFL
I just worked with Ted on a transfer. It was a professional and trouble free process. A public Thank You goes out to Ted. I will be working with Ted again in the future.

Re: Where to Live in Houston
I really appreciate the advice folks. Keep it coming. I lived in Pasadena as a kid 35 years ago. I was told that Pasadena has gone downhill also. He and I are going to go down there next month for a couple days to get the "feel" of the different hoods. I have driven through The Woodlands o...

Re: We MUST band together! This system is BROKE!
Applied online, paid with credit card, card was charged at that moment. Mailed paperwork packet on the 1st, I am still "packet mailed to applicant" If there is one thing I have learned from reading the posts in the waiting room, it is that the status page on the TDPS sight is no indicatio...

Where to Live in Houston
My son is starting law school in Houston in August. We need to find out where folks would recommend living with the least risk of being mugged. Any of you Houston area folks have words of wisdom to offer? Areas to stay away from...prices....areas of relative peaceful living? Thanks for any suggestio...

Re: The bullet trap???
Been shooting there for quite a while. Went by there Sunday to window shop hand guns and take a look at the completed renovations. Holy Cow...the parking lot was packed! I will get by there during the day when they are not so busy. It's good to hear they have improved the lightning.

Re: Let's hear some updates!
 I have a theory about the length of time it takes to get the plastic. I think it's because each time one checks his status online, another day is added before the DPS may issue the certificate. A telephone call will cost you two days because it involves a person. You see, the DPS believes th...

Re: Just Called the State
I guess they sort of covered the "Simone" rule with us. We got the speach about not calling DPS because apparently the unit that processes the CHL's is rather small. Every time someone calls it takes them away from processing applications. At least that's what they claim... I do think reg...

Re: Interesting Exchange by Email
It really doesn't seem like they have any kind of systematic approach at all. I would love to see the operation center down there. Are they locked in the bowels of some high rise government building? Has anyone any clue at all as to how they are organized? One thing is for sure, to have this many di...

Re: Just Called the State
Rule #1, Don't upset Simone!! I get one email because I'm to stupid to know any better. After that maybe I get a reputation!! :???: I'm standing fast from now on. It'll get here...I guess. Rob Yeah...now I know. I feel like they should have covered the "simone" rules in the class. :biggri...

Re: Just Called the State
I have emailed them three times now asking for a pin, just like their web sight told me to do. The last exchange of emails gave me the impression that good ole Simone was getting irritated at me for requesting a PIN. I don't know what to do now other than wait. I worry that she is power tripping dow...
