Re: Attorney Andrew Branca Discusses MO Walmart Incident

I think Branca has nailed the actual issues. After a few weeks have passed and the initial level of outrage and political pressure has dissipated, I think the interest in pursuing the charges as a felony will fade and we'll see a much reduced charge. My bet is discon because the felony provision is ...

Re: MO: Armed man arrested at Walmart.

As I predicted, more sober analysis is suggesting that no laws were actually broken (remembering that stupidity itself isn't illegal) and he may very well walk when the DA thinks this one over. Details here.

Re: MO: Armed man arrested at Walmart.

This would make more sense if the guy admitted he was trying to get WalMart to ban carrying guns in its stores. Even a double face palm doesn't cover it. From a charging perspective it's likely to end up as either a disorderly conduct or outright dismissal. with a possibility he may try to sue the g...

Re: Sen. Graham announces red flag legislation

In this article on Townhall.com Kurt Schlichter did a much more eloquent job of making the point than I did in my post a couple of days ago.

It's well worth the read.

Re: Sen. Graham announces red flag legislation

Senator Graham needs to be reminded that he swore solemn oath to defend the constitution as written against all enemies foreign and domestic. Anyone who would give up essential liberties for the illusory promise of temporary safety or other benefit deserves neither. Giving away parts of the constitu...

Re: P365 ms or S&W shield 2.0

I have and like both. Here’s my take: For belt carry inside or out the Shield wins every time. For pocket carry the P365 can’t be beat for great capacity in a 9mm platform that disappears in a proper pocket holster. My P365 is recently manufactured and has the new more robust striker tip Sig develop...

Re: SC: Bodycam of LEO shooting homeowner through front door.

One important element is missing from the story: Did the dispatcher tell the deputy the alarm was a medical alert or was the call just dispatched as "an alarm?" The wording of the dispatch will make a big difference in how the officer approaches, what he is prepared to see, and how he is primed to ...

It was good this morning. I almost finished those Huevos Rancheros.
Good company, good conversation, and good food - a fine way to start the day!

Per discussion, I added "4th Saturday" to the topic title to help avoid future confusion over the date.

I’ll be there.
We're up to 5 - a decent turnout considering the date confusion last week.

Re: DFW Way Out West Breakfast

So far I've got:

Hack Job
Ddub
Strogg
Myself

It may be a little smaller than usual because a few of our regulars got an early start last week.

Anyone else?

Please post if you're planning to meet at Manny's in Hudson Oaks at 08:00 on Saturday so I can have the venue set up the right number of tables.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, something has come up, and I won't be able to make the breakfast/range trip this Saturday.

Never fails, I was really looking forward to it.
Y'all have fun, take pics.
We'll miss your company. See you in August.
