Re: Amazing Pictures of the WWII Atomic weapons

Who here knows where the bomber training was done for the crews that would deliver the bombs? I have been to that area numerous times during my enlistment. I'm a huge WW2 information junkie, but must admit I didn't know this! Wendover AFB Nevada Yep, there’s some interesting info on Wendover. In th...

Re: Waterfowl game (not photos, but a question)

Check out Justin Hurst WMA. Their roads are sufficient to drive a car to walking distance of hunt areas. I’ve never hunted birds there but I’ve hubted other animals. https://tpwd.texas.gov/huntwild/hunt/wma/find_a_wma/list/?id=41&activity=hunting BTW, you can call Justin Hurst and speak to the wild...

Re: NRA Firearm ins

I’m an NRA recruiter and I asked about the insurance since the info about it was no longer on the NRA website. I was told that the details are under review and have not hear anything else. I’ll email back and ask if there are any updates.

Re: Unicorn pistol

I carry the G43 with Taran Tactical +3 mag bases. In my younger years I’ve carried large pistols concealed (with a Para 14-45 being the largest I’ve used for EDC. That double stack 45 was heavy and big) but even my G29 feels large for EDC now. I’ve settled into carrying smaller 9’s for EDC.

It’s been about three years since I’ve been there but the last time I was there for Handel’s Messiah there was no posting.

Re: TX: 70 yr old Plano vet sentenced to 87 months

I have a 5 year old daughter and two sons. Daughters are a pain in the rear end. Sounds like this guy learned this lesson too late. From all indications the problem here is not the daughter. Did you even read what this guy had done? I can’t understand anyone defending this guy. I think it’s time fo...

Re: TX: 70 yr old Plano vet sentenced to 87 months

More info, I’m not sure why anyone would be signing a petition for this guy. I don’t have proof but someone living in his area said he stole the rifle in question. I don’t care what he did when he was younger, he got much less than he deserved. Ill agree the initial story lacked many details and it ...

Re: Gloves while shooting?

I have a Freedom Arms 83 in 454 Casull. I’m usually not sensitive to recoil but this thing was a beast and I had to wear gloves shooting it. It actually had more felt recoil that my 4” S&W 500. I sent the 83 to get Magna Ported and now it’s tolerable but if I’m firing a box of ammo (when working up ...

Re: TX: 70 yr old Plano vet sentenced to 87 months

Oh, come on - you think being a vet should give him a pass for having an unregistered select-fire rifle with a defaced serial-number? No sympathy. I’m with you, after reading several accounts and parts of the court documents I have a different picture of him. He doesn’t appear to be an unintelligen...

Re: Shipping a firearm door to door in TX

Does he charge a transfer fee? If he’s a high volume shipper he gets much better rates. It cost me about $30 for postage and insurance on a handgun, it’s even more if it’s an expensive gun. All firearms shipped USPas have to be dropped off in person at the post office, anything UPS over $1000 has t...
