The case failed to chamber, the case rim was sheared when I was trying to get the bolt carrier out.couzin wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2019 8:34 pm I am late to the party - but the case bulge and the rim snapped off looks like you may overgassed and possibly underbuffered. The gas pressure starts moving the casing before it has had time to shrink after firing, sometimes causing the bolt to move and tear off a chunk of case rim. Maybe...

Use science, a few sec of super chilled compressed "air in a can", sprayed on the case head, made the mission way easier. One bang and it just came out.

Yes, I saw that. I am not certain if it was a crack or just kind of "hair" from the cleaning pad. After Polishing there was nothing. I will double check.

Re: Houston we got a problem... Live Rd jammed
I may have to remove the barrel if the round does not get out easily. The Annoyed Man wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2019 8:56 amBeiruty, you might want to consider pulling the barrel off of the receiver if tapping on it with the brass rod with medium force doesn’t do it. Depending on how you have the upper clamped in a vise, if you have to start banging too hard on the stuck case with that rod, it could potentially damage the receiver. Removing the barrel, or at least clamping the barrel in the vise rather than using a receiver block to fix the upper in place while beating on the rod, would eliminate the possibility of receiver damage.Beiruty wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2019 12:20 amThis is what I expect to find out soon. The 24" brass rod was not delivered yet. I suspected that the case neck was split and stayed in the chamber when the next round entered the chamber. The Annoyed Man wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2019 9:21 pm It looks from your pictures as though the stuck round wasn’t fully seated to begin with.it may well be that the previous round left a piece of brass stuck in the chamber.
I'd be very careful about the use of heat on the barrel anywhere near the receiver extension. Another thought... if the bullet is already set back all the way into the case, maybe you could use a cleaning rod to keep the bullet pushed back while you dump any remaining powder charge out the front of the barrel. That way, if the primer does detonate, you’ll lessen the risks of bad juju.
Anyway, good luck with it, and let us know the final outcome.

Re: Houston we got a problem... Live Rd jammed
I will do that, and I will spray a lot WD-40 and keep it overnight barrel up. Then, I will get the super chilled liquid and cool the cased head before I pound it with the solid brass rod

Re: Houston we got a problem... Live Rd jammed
All what I need is bolt head with 360 degrees collet extractor that grabs on the case and outer collet that pushes against the barrel face when a bolt is tightened from the other side of the said bolt head

Re: Houston we got a problem... Live Rd jammed
I have done that. The bullet was pushed back in the case and I can hear it when I rattle the upper. Wood rod broke. I used a brass cleaning rod and the one of its end was deformed.
I ordered a 3/16" x24" brass rod.
I contacted RRA for Tech Help and possible shipping to the factory for a fix or replacement if the chamber is damaged
It is stuck more than I expected

Re: Houston we got a problem... Live Rd jammed
Why no one designed a case puller similar to the RCBS stuck case remover from the die. Instead of of screw in the case, one can use a collet type extractor.
