Re: hog hunting with 10mm pistol: 180gr or 200gr?

A friend uses .22 LR between the eyes to kill hogs in his trap. Has killed a lot that way.

Re: Your #1 Favorite Firearm you have

I have two favorites, both old: Windchester model 90, .22 WRF (.22 Special) that was my Dad's. Used all through WWII on the farm for everything from rabbits to butchering. Savage Model 99, .300 Savage. My folks gave it to me new in 1952 while in my Junior year in High School. I have shot considerabl...

Re: Bought a new Rossi 92 in .357/.38

I too just bought a new (to me) Rossi 92 in ,357/.38. My son picked it up a couple of weeks ago after seeing it advertised in Texas Gun Traders. It has the 16" barrel but should make a nice companion for my S&W .357. Haven't been to the range yet but there is still a possibility of this afternoon or...

Re: Wife needs on body carry - belly band?

I have used a generic belly band for a number of years with dress slacks and shirt. Carrying is not a problem but access if needed will be difficult and reholstering will be almost impossible to do with any kind of safety. I almost have to undress to get the gun in place being careful of the trigger.

Crossfire Range in Flower Mound

Kudos to the new Crossfire Range in Flower Mound. My family had a reunion near there on Saturday and one of the activities was a session at Crossfire. We had 8 shooters and one observer/mag loader and firearms from .22 to 44 mag with a 300 blackout thrown in for good measure. We were able to have a ...

Happy Thanksgiving to all. I am fortunate that I get to be with my two sons and their families today. Three of the Grandchildren will not be able to be there but they will be in our thoughts.

Re: How long have you been carrying?

I started carrying about 1950. Was driving tractor and started carrying a pistol to shoot jackrabbits and have been carrying on and off ever since. Picked up the Texas CHL shortly after they started issuing CHLs just so I would be legal.

Re: Please identify some rifles for me

While I can't identify either of the rifles, I can say that neither is an M1 rifle or an M1 carbine. They appear to be military surplus.

Re: 18,400 members

I too thank Charles and the moderators for providing this forum that a lot of us enjoy a great deal.

We have also been adding new members at the rate of about 100 per month for at least the last several months (when I have been noticing) so our total numbers are increasing rapidly.
