Re: Harris County Applicants
I finally have my license on day 115. Good luck to you other Harris county folks. My only recommendation is to be a thorn in the side of your rep, senator and DPS until they get you what you paid for. The more of us who complain to our reps the more they may actually try to fix this problem so that ...

Re: Harris County Applicants
I need any feedback from anyone who has had success with contacting your representative. I spoke today with Senator Patrick's office and they are telling me there is really nothing they can do. They called DPS and was told the background check has yet to be returned and DPS in Austin has no way to ...

Re: Harris County Applicants
Got a call from DPS this morning that my license came in and….wait for it…wait for it….it was defective so needs to be reprinted. Oh but it gets better. They don’t know when it will be reprinted and not only is mine an issue but 60% of the licenses that came back in this batch are defective and that ...

DPS called my GF yesterday. Told her that they are waiting on Harris County for the BGC.
So the next letter going to our Senator and Rep will be complaining about ...

Re: Harris County Applicants
So, my saga continues...I am now at day 104 and yes in Harris county. I was told that my license would be printed last week and then next day mailed to me for arrival on Saturday but NO. That was wrong info. Today I was told that my license is still at the printer and that DPS has no way to know ...

Re: Harris County Applicants
Follow-up, I just spoke to DPS and my Senators office via conference call. DPS has my background check complete and they are rushing the printing of my license. I was promised that as soon as it comes in (Friday is the day they expect it back), it will be overnighted to my house. I will let everyone ...

Re: Harris County Applicants
So now I am on day 99 and I was just told that they are waiting on my background check. Of course a few weeks ago I was told my license was being printed. I really want to know what is going on in Harris county. All the excuses seem like just that EXCUSES. I have already contacted my rep and senator ...

Re: Preferred Daily carry Ammo
For my Sig 239 9mm and my S&W 640 .38spl I use Hornady Critical Defense
For my .45 (Kimber custom compact) I carry Hornady TAP
I have become a huge fan of the Hornady Ammo. The Critical defense is by far the best ammo I have used at the range through my 9 and 38. And based on everything I have ...

Re: February Applications
Today is day 79 for me and day 85 for one of my co-workers. We both live in Harris County. I have emailed Senetor Mike Jacksons office and they contacted the DPS and I even received a call from the DPS saying they are just waiting on the county clerks office in Harris County to send them my ...

Re: February Applications
I just recieved an Incomplete Application, due to not having a complete 5 years of residential history and a missing city on my job experience. I called and Harris County is still performing my background check. Anyone know what the turn around is once you've sent back the missing info?

Re: February Applications
Well now I am just awaiting the printing of the license and waiting and waiting. I know this has been discussed before but I am amazed that it takes this long to print a CHL. They can print a drivers license in a day how does it take weeks to print a CHL? Oh well at least it will be here some day ...

Re: February Applications
So on Friday I wrote my State Senator and at 10am this morning I got a call from DPS apologizing for the delay and telling me I have been put on the expedited list. About 30 minutes after that I got a call from the senators office making sure DPS called me. So I will let everyone know if this works ...
